Easier Way to Add Music to Downloaded Wrestlers?
It's a huge pain to copy downloaded wrestlers and then add entrance music to them. Apparently there's a big update coming in the next few months. Does anyone know if there will be a better way to add entrance music for downloaded wrestlers in the new patch? I wish the system simply allowed you to associate a track with a downloaded wrestler without editing anything else.

I realize there are mods that can help with this but I'd much rather wait for an official way.

Do you mean a workshop patch that, when you upload CAWS to the workshop, it also uploads the music file?

I don't know, but it seems unlikely given the way the program works. Each wrestler's song on your game is filed in your personal computer's BGM folder (the game's music folder) . To download music with the CAW it must also make changes to other game files like the BGM.

Not gonna happen in an official way: your downloaded wrestler is a subscription, for obvious legal reasons it won't download music. If you just download the subscribed wrestler, you'll receive every edit change the creator makes.
Copying the wrestler to add the entrance you want, stops receiving changes. This already IS the simple way.
The hard way is building the wrestler yourself from scratch.
Your only alternative are mods.

I think my original post is misunderstood. I'm not saying that the music should be bundled with the download obviously. I'm just saying I wish I could add entrance music to a downloaded wrestler without having to make a duplicate of the wrestler first.

I don't see any downside to being able to download a wrestler and then edit ONLY the entrance music. This way you would still download updates for the wrestler and it wouldn't change the entrance music. Custom entrance music is never downloaded, so I don't see why they can add that option as a "Simple" edit. The complex edit would be what's already in the game, which is copying the character, which makes it a local character.

The reason why you can't edit downloaded items officially is due to the way subscriptions work. While you're still subscribed to a wrestler the game updates the edit every time it loads; this ensures that your copy is always in-synch with any changes the publisher makes. Any changes you make related to entrance music would be over-written as well, since the publisher can update which theme the edit is looking for (by name).

Aren't the entrance themes only in game tracks though? Or can someone create a wrestler with a theme that is looking for blank.mp3 on my local computer? If it was looking for a custom track on my computer that would be great.

I recall that the publisher can link a track to their edit, and if you have a file with the same name in your BGM folder it will immediately apply it. I think they manually add the theme in edit creation, then publish the edit and that information will go over with the subscription.

Do you know where I can view the entrance theme file name for a downloaded wrestler in game without having to copy the wrestler and then editing the wrestler?

If it works as you say it does that would be perfect and it would solve all my issues.

Sometimes the authors include the name of the song on their CAW description page.
Otherwise there may be a forum, sometimes an easy Google inquiry, to tell you the answer.

The originally uploader needs to mention the name in the upload. There's no other way to pull that information from an edit currenlty. A mod could be made to display that information, but considering that the Theme Music Database can assign music to downloads, it would be sort of pointless...siince if you're going to mod, just use that.

Did FPW recently change the ability to use MP3 for downloaded CAW if the title was the same as the creators title in their description? None of my music works for my downloaded wrestlers anymore.
