As a keyboard warrior I can say it's definitely possible, redefine your keys if necessary.
My keyboard layout (I have an old keyboard without windows-key):
movement = arrow keys
small = left shift
medium = left control
big = \
run = left alt
pin = numpad 0
breathe = s
3D walking = d
It's: big + left OR right
Please don't get frustrated. It took me 5 years to get the grappling down in Fire Pro Returns. It was so hard for me I almost gave up. But I finally got good at it. It comes naturally now.
5 years??? Holy...
I don't think it took me an hour, back in 1998...
Guaranteed grapple by simply walking into your opponent, instead of a telegraphed grapple button that can result in a whiff, counter or easy reversal.
Yeah, it's unfair alright.
It's been like this since 1989: just brilliant!
