Thanks. I saw in the quick tips someone recommending mashing as well. Is there a difference that has to do with spirit?
Are you sure? I wiggle the left analog around and press A and it's worked every single time for me.
Mashing buttons is basically useless in this game.
Except when you get into strike exchanges. Manual even says that. And FPR had mashing on pins.

According to Jason Blackhart who has watched RAM in debugger, this is because a wrestler will kick out when X is pressed when he has a certain amount of HP(when he kicks out depends how much HP is left), and HP will recover by 1 point per frame at all times, but when being pinned, every time X is pressed, another small amount of HP is also recovered.
