Weapon Progression is WAAAAAAY too slow....
Look I love this game a lot, and have been playing it religiously.... But I'm not even remotely close to 500 hours and I'm not grinding 500 hours for a scope. Would love to see this like... 5x'd so it's actually possible to level guns reasonably without no life-ing a single gun for a month.

why would you need to grind 500 hours for 1 scope?

that's what I'm wondering. I fully leveled a weapon in around 10 hours already.

-shrug- it's just encouraging people to cheat - like they always do.
Why grind for a weapon when you can exp exploit your gun to 25?

I've definitely noticed way more cheaters since this update. Seems to be promoting that for sure.

I thought it was a bit too slow too, but then i realised; i've been capped out on max resources with NOTHING to progress in for about a year, with warbonds coming out as the only short-lasting exception.

Be glad you have something to slowly progress in now, try to remember how cool it was unlocking new stratagems and upgrades for the first time.

TBH the leveling is fun until you hit lvl 20 then its freaking miserable
The exp needed from 20-25 is too high, otherwise it's completely fine.

The trick is, just take your favorite weapon and just play the game as normal. They perform the same as before, even on level1, that you level them is just a benefit so you can tune them even more while you play. I dont see any grind here, they level automatically while you play.
Two things they could do to improve it would be:

1) Add a Booster that improves weapon Xp
2) Have Double Weapon Xp weekends or some other such event.

I just came back after being gone over a year to find weapons that level up but since I don't play much it feels slightly slower than I'd personally want but it feels about right overall. I only have one weapon leveling currently and it isn't even level 4 so that could be different at higher levels.

Personally, I wouldn't mind a sort of catch up mechanic that gives boosted weapon XP dependent upon how long you haven't played the game. Shouldn't be too crazy but something that allows those who haven't played in a while the chance to catch up slightly.

EDIT: All that appears to happen is better/worse accuracy from what I can tell so it really isn't that big a deal for me and a faster/slower draw (?) speed.

The duality of a helldiver: there’s nothing to do vs this thing to do takes too long.

The grind is ok, at least they gave us something to do after half an year capped on resources and levels.

There are a few exceptions (I’m seeing a lot of people talking a lot about Reprimand and Liberator Carbine), but most of the attachments are marginal sidegrades anyway.

Just keep diving with your favorite weapons and you’ll get there.

It does feel a little longer than I prefer. I think a good compromise would be to allow us to use samples to speed it up a little.

Level 1-10: 100 common samples per level
Level 11-20: 50 rare samples per level
Level 21-25: 20 super samples per level

Fr, more double standards than the average feminist on twitter.

Good thing most useful upgrade (yes, not side grade) come fast enough at lvl 15 tops.
Be it the foregrip or angle foregrip + flash hider for recoil and ergonomic respectively.

The issues come when you want something from lvl 20+.
Then the grind become unbearable long due to an insanely high exp requirement.

Yea, that's a the silver lining for me. Once I've hit level 21 for the compensator, I'll switch to levelling another weapon. Don't really need drum mags, in fact I find small mags more versatile for the shorter reload speed.
