Thoughts on the R-6 Deadeye from borderline justice warbond
I really feel like it should be heavy armour penetrating if it keeps all the stats as it is, since it likely uses the same ammunition as the senator, and often back then lever action rifles would have the same ammunition as a side arm.
If it stays as medium armour penetrating I think the reload speed should be increased quite significantly, I feel like in comparison to even diligence counter sniper it feels very slow for what it is, and especially compared to my fav guns the Plas 101 purifier and Jar 5 dominator.

Anyway that’s just my opinion, I do like the laser revolver from that war bond quite a bit though.

BTW I posted this in the hopes that the deadeye can at least have a buff to its reload speed, recognising that it likely uses the same ammo as the senator which is heavy armour penetrating so if it stays really slow in reloading etc that it should at least have the same is maybe wishful thinking that it would be changed…

With Siege armour, i really enjoy it on bot & squid front. Very effective against tougher things weakspots, and it's fun to just plink away and one shot the vote-less / marauders / brawlers etc. On Bug front i'm finding it kinda poo tier, just doesn't have the uptime:downtime ratio to deal with the hordes, but that was always going to be the case and not unexpected.

I've tried it without siege armour, and even on bot & squid front that feels noticeably, significantly worse. Siege is basically a must for it imo.

Whilst i'm very much okay with it's current implementation, my personal preference would have been for it to have heavy pen - with a slower lever pull time in between shots to balance that out a bit. But i do understand why they didn't go this direction as i think there's sense in keeping heavy pen reserved for as few things as possible to maintain their value.

What annoys me most about it is the fact that the reticle / hit point often feel misaligned in 3rd person - shots constantly hit a few inches to the left of where i'm actually aiming, and i really wish it had a different scope as i do not like this one, but i'm sure others will have their own feelings on the optics that differ to myn.
Yea I actually went back to Constitution to compare it to Deadeye and its reload is swift in comparison.
Not to mention the 300 damage while nice, isn't doing much if you're hitting heads since much of the medium bugs that "dies" in one Deadeye headshot often needed to be double tapped anyways to expedite the bleeding phase.

But the Deadeye have a scope so it stands head and shoulders above the Constitution in bot front. But then again I'm doing fine with Diligence there since it's easier to aim.

So yeah maybe a speedloader like in The Finals would be nice.

According to some players, every gun in the game should be at least pen 4. Use siege ready armor, learn to no-scope while reloading, profit.
I think the gun is largely fine as is. Could do with ammo capacity and or reload speed buffs at base to be a little less reliant on siege ready (say maybe an extra 12 shots and around a 15-20% faster reload) but not heavy pen. Its works well on bots and squids already (not really bugs but not every weapon has to be amazing for every front) and has some pretty great breakpoints so far. A few of these would be...

One shot on devastator's and berserker's heads
a few shots to a devastator body with enough stagger to hard stun them
two shots to berserker's body with enough stagger to stun
two shots on a strider's "crotch" or legs
Can one shot a overseer in the head (you have to hit usually around the middle or lower half of the head otherwise you lose some damage to deflection angles and it won't kill)
1 shot on observers in the eye or two in the body

That's not really saying much considering the DCS can 1HK Devastators as well, same with the Jar-5 and I think even the Slugger at this point now that it can actually hit where you aim.

I think that might just means it released at a reasonably balanced baseline compared to other options. It would be way more of a balance issue if it could one body things like that. As I said originally it could use some minor improvements, but its damage and ap level is pretty passable as is compared to our existing arsenal.

(ps. the overseer breakpoint is the most important difference between it and other primaries to me because it is far easier to hit them only once in the head than twice, especially with how they bobble around when getting hit)

I just realized last night that the Halt is better in almost every way.

Can someone point me toward ANYTHING the Deadeye has over the Halt? Range and that's about it I'm guessing?

I agree. Either making it heavy armour penetrating while keeping that sluggish reload would be fine, or reloading faster to make up for the fact its only medium pen would make this weapon quite a lot more fun to use. Maybe increasing the magazine size to 12+ if it stays medium.

Go fight bots with both and see the difference for yourself

Overall the weapon is fine. I only want to see the reloading improved a little. Or atleast reload similar to shotguns where we can fire one and reload one.
