70GB reserved for a 20GB file size
I know it's common for the reserved space to be larger than the file size by a few gigs. But more than 3 times as much seems a bit excessive.

You are downloading a compressed file, which is actually a sign of good deving. Be happy it's not a 70gb download like shoddy devs tend to push out.

I was also confused by the game taking up 70GB

Steam unpacks the files as it downloads them. That's why you see two different space amounts on the download page: one is the amount it has to download, the other is the amount of space the finished extraction will take up. That's also why Steam shows you your download speed AND disk usage at the same time.

Thank you for explaining that for me. I haven't been a pc gamer for long. Not being sarcastic. I thought it was a little weird.

I got steam back then for TF2 and bought humble bundles for when I would one day play PC. I played console more often cause I stream and it's easier to stream console games with a capture card than play a PC game and stream it. Until recently of course since most gaming pcs can handle streaming ontop of gaming now too.
