Remove protection from achievements and let us unlock them via SAM!
First off, thank you for Steam achievements!
I know that we would be able to transfer all the unlocked achievements from Ubisoft Connect to Steam once we launch the game, as you guys stated, BUT - why do we have to download the whole game again when there's an easier way?

I'm talking about using Steam Achievement Manager. Pretty much all the single player games let us manage steam achievements with it but the newly added FC5 achievements can't be modified using SAM because y'all made them 'protected' for some reason.

Please, remove that protection or whatever it is and let us transfer the achievements manually, which is a lot easier and quicker.

Cheers!

is that why I can't have my achievements? I've finished this game but I started it after these news and couldn't get any achievement. It worked in Far Cry 6 which I also have finished.

Yeah the Ubisoft launcher thingie never tracked my achievements correctly, im sure i've done 100% in the game and DLC's but somehow it didn't unlock the rest?

Its physically impossible to do the Arcade hero achievement. Me and a buddy have been loading into incompletable maps or they straight crash the game before you load in. Went to just pop it with SAM and found out its protected.

I found a way to reset your achievements, only problem is you have to start over again.
First go into the Achievement manager, select Far Cry 5, and instead of clicking on the lock you click on reset, it should also ask you to reset your achievements completely now. Check out my profile if you don't trust me.

I know, sadly it is the only way to remove those achievements right now. Lucky for me cause I wanted to revisit the game anyway so I might aswell start a new game

Same thing here. Thank you, uioplki8, but too unmotivated to do it all over again just to fix Ubisoft lazyness.

No problem, I completely understand it. Ubisoft is so lazy it's crazy and tbh I've never seen protected achievements but hey Ubislop surprised me

Props to Ubisoft for making them cheat proof, everyone else should be ashamed of themselves for allowing cheating if its this easy to block.

Chill out, man. You don't need to compete with everyone everywhere. It's ok for people to freely manipulate their achievements as they see fit. This should not be a competition for status or something. Games are a tool for enjoyment, not for bettering others.

Props to Ubisoft? Really? Let me break it down for you: millions of players have played this game for years without Steam achievements. Ubisoft decided to finally add them, which is great, but the only way to do that is by jumping through hoops like redownloading the entire game.

How is using a tool like Steam Achievement Manager to manually sync achievements cheating? These are single-player achievements we’re talking about—no one’s exploiting leaderboards or multiplayer stats. SAM is just a utility, not some game-breaking hack. Besides, achievement 'cheating' doesn’t hurt developers or other players. It’s a personal choice, and frankly, no one else should care.
