I tried a DualShock 4 and Xbox One controller, but both are broken and have no reverse gear or D-Pad support. The Steam controller has neither of these things either, but that can be fixed by remapping a few buttons to keyboard letters.
Ubisoft really sucks at gamepad support on PC, I've had to fix all sorts of problems in their code over the years. It's much easier now that the Steam overlay can remap input.
Aiming your gun's the best part of the Steam controller actually. Gyro aim is sooooooo much nicer than mouse.
I'm going to check it out now
What the Steam controller turns into is a virtual trackball + gyro. You can lean in for fast direction changes, and then use your fingers for precise aiming adjustments. Once you get the hang of it, it's way more intuitive than mouse input.
but can you snap headshots with the snape precision?
im sure its fun and works but theres no way you are going to beat someone 1v1 who's got decent aim with a mouse lol
