In any case, think that it would also work better if ya unsubscribed from the various mods directly on Mod.io.
I have literally never been on mod.io nor "subscribed" to any mods there. There is a deeper issue at play. Not tried safemode though. Painful that in-game I can not even choose to remove mods, only "uncheck" them. Huge oversight on the part of the developers.
And see if that helps or not.
Maybe there was a time when you did not filter out modded servers, or maybe the game had some bug in the past that no longer applies, or....
Thats my point, I dont understand why we are forced to use mods even when we chouse to not do so.
What issue are you experiencing?
Only people using Verified mods can join an unmodded game, and those are purely client side; which means they wouldn't be crashing your game or causing any issues on your side.
Launching DRG in Safe Mode (another launch option presented to you upon starting the game from your Steam Library) might also be of help; I'd try that one too and see if anything improves.
Verifying the game files integrity and then restarting Steam doesn't hurt, either.
Also, make sure that your antivirus isn't interfering with DRG; if that's the case, try placing the game files folder into an Exception category.
Reinstalling the game might help, too (as well as reinstalling it to a different drive, granted you have more than one, and, have enough free space obviously), but make sure to create a backup of your game files, just in case ( I would also check that the Steam Cloud Save service is enabled and working properly; it should show this upon selecting a game from your Library, to the right of the 'PLAY' button and under ' Cloud Status ' ).
I tried disabling mods, unsubscribing from them in mod.io, and running the game with -disablemodding and then removing it, but it didn't work.
When I delete the mod.io folder from both places as per above suggestion, I can't get into the modding tab at all. I get a message that tells me I must agree to the terms of use and I get no other options. Meanwhile, I can log into mod.io with my steam account no problem.
What's going on? How do I fix it? This used to not be the case and I'd be able to join modded games. I think it started in the last update but I'm not 100% sure on that.
Also if I restore the old mod.io folders that I deleted (i had the sense to back them up) the modding tab starts working but I get the same bug again.
Should I just reinstall? Is there a risk of losing the savegame file if you do? I shudder to think how long it'll take to get all those overclocks back.
Would like to hear some suggestions on things to try.
Are you on Windows 7?
Yes, windows 7.
It's been having trouble with Mod.io lately, there is a work around though; if you're not scared of a little technical computing:
