FIX for Graphic startup FAILED: NO Graphics memory
So, after Googling around and searching on multiple forums and wasting an hour replacing the d3d9.dll in the syswow64 folder (didn't work) - here is what worked for me...

1) Install the game
2) install FAR
3) Launch game and configure FAR
4) [optional] get to the first save point and save your game
5) Quit and re-launch [game will now crash with the above error]
6) Go to the game folder and DELETE "dinput8.ini" then rename "dinput8_default.ini" to "dinput8.ini"
7) Launch game again and it should work - and still have your FAR settings
[you may have to set border-less window again though]
8) Make a backup of the renamed "dinput8.ini" just in case
9) DONE!

That error message is a generic error message caused by basically anything, meaning this isn’t /the/ “true” fix, just one of the multiple ones available.

Also, there’s no need to rename dinput8_default.ini. It is named as such because FAR will automatically use that file to create a new dinput8.ini file if one is missing.

Okeydokey removed the "true" part from the title - just saying though...

I tried a load of other fixes and only the above worked.

Even if it doesn't work for everyone - it may at least help a few other people.

Yeah, you don't have to remove this thread, as it is more than warranted :)

The error message can be forcefully caused by changing certain parameters of FAR to incompatible values that the game couldn't handle, which seems to have been the case here for you since a reset of the config file solved it.

If you still have your old dinput8.ini, could you post a diff between that one and the one that works? It'd be interesting to see which settings caused it to break.

Sadly, nope - I no longer have the original dinput8.ini

This is easy to reproduce though, as I've now tested it on both my PCs [specs below]

Both running latest update of Win 10 x64 TH2

PC#1 [main rig]

AMD FX 6100 Hex core
16GB 1866 DDR3 Crucial Ballistix tactical tracer
128GB SSD
Various HDDs [too many to list, but around 10TB in total]
Geforce GTX 970 4GB [3.5GB of course ;-) ]

PC#2 [backup rig]
Intel Xeon E5472 quad core
8GB 800 DDR2 Corsair Dominator
X2 500GB main storage and 160GB Western digital Raptor
AMD R7 360 2GB

@Aemony - cheers for [writing] sticky-ing the tweak guide on your profile...gonna check that out :-)

Hello guys, after spending lot of time trying to fix this via replace dll and even FAR mod which never worked same for this i can tell that finally fixed my problem!! and the problem was only virtual memory windows i leave all as default then all worked perfectly..this is how must look https://filestore.community.support.microsoft.com/api/images/ext?url=https%3a%2f%2fsystweak1.vo.llnwd.net%2fcontent%2fwp%2fsystweakblogsnew%2fuploads%2fVirtual-Memory-in-Windows-10.jpg
