Texture filter?
Can someone post pics of the difference between 4x-16x? I am trying to get the most out of my FPS in the ruined city. It drops to around 48-53 FPS in some spots (then shoots to 60 and back down) even with global illumination from the FAR patch down on high/medium and my shadows on medium (shadows aren't that great in this game anyway). That's with 16x texture filter. With 4x texture filter I get a bit more FPS but if texture filter at 16x is a better noticeable difference, I'll keep it there.

There must be something my eyes aren't catching in a difference between the filter options.

In case anyone is wondering, I'm running 16GB memory, 4.2ghz i5 3570k CPU and a radeon HD7970. I also have borderless gaming running.

The jumps in anisotropic filter has diminishing returns. The difference between 8x and 16x is so minor that it is not worth the performance loss. 4x can be considered a sweet spot, but give 8x a try if you like the appearance of 16x.

Shadows in this game are odd. I can see a difference between High and Medium, but I can't tell a difference between Medium and Low. Haven't checked to see if there is a performance increase between the two lower settings, but there is a difference between High and Medium.

4x AF is performance penalty free on all GPUs manufactured within the past ~12 years, by the way :) There's no reason to set it lower than 4 except for rare circumstances like tile-based games (i.e. Disgaea) where 4x AF may cause texture bleeding.
