Make alien bodies stay a bit longer
And let the acid actually cause damage.

They may not be able to redesign the game fundamentally, but they should make these small changes. It would be an easy improvement to add, every little bit helps i guess.

You can make the aliens stay longer by using Adonys 1.9 mod. Those bodies burn for ever..... or you can just change them in the ini files.

If you don't want any of the other tweeks, which make the game look nice (better lighting/fire).

You can just go to
  • C:\Users\%USERPROFILE%\Documents\my games\Aliens Colonial Marines\PecanGame\Config\ in windows search, open the Pecan game and change the
    MaximumNumberOfCorpses=5 (change to 50) in wordpad and save. You will need to make this read only after or it will change back each time you close the game.

change these settings:
SecondsBeforeConsideringRagdollRemoval 60.0
SecondsBeforeVisibleRagdollRemoval 120.0
SecondsBetweenRagdollRemovalAttempts 1.0
MaximumNumberOfCorpses 50

What those changes do is not only add how many bodies are left lying around but it also changes how long they stay before the space janitors clean them up. The tweak is from Mod DB here http://www.moddb.com/games/aliens-colonial-marines/news/prevent-bodies-from-disappearing

I noticed that even with saving the pecan file after making the above changes any time a Gearbox update is released those are reset back to defaults so you'll have to manually change them back again.

One side effect of leaving dead bodies all over the place is the claymore mines are trickier to deploy. If you go to place one close to a dead body it will instantly detonate - so be careful and back up a bit first!

Also in Bug Hunt you may waste amo, I've done this a few time in TDM shooting at Spitters that were already dead, and had a few times where I've seen others shooting at dead bodies "just making sure" that I can't see, it was pretty funny.

I would suggest Coop first to get better, look for playes by joining groups in my guide, scedual an event and make friends. Nice to meet you.

hey i tweaked the ini file as stated, but for some reason the aliens still dissappear. the regular bodies (dudes with white hats) stay, but not the aliens. any ideas why? and how to fix it?

I'm happy ya'all have mods to do this with. For me there are way too many aliens to have acid do damage. The game is already tough enough on anything higher than recruit. :-)
