Any Advice on Killing The Giant Skag Near Lynchwood?

This damn thing kills me every time it uses its laser. I'm 2 levels above it and still can't seem to do hardly any damage, the turret hardly dents it. There doesn't seem to be anywhere to go to avoid the beam. Any tips or tricks to use in this area?

Stay in the elevator and behind the barrier.... the Mother-Skag reacts to the spawning bandits there. As soon as she turns her attention to the bandits, pop up from behind the barrier and unload a rocket-launcher, thrown homing-grenades and use whatever else that creates explosions. Mother-Skag looks imposing, but if you stay in the elevator and behind the barrier, the fight is rather a formality.

Also, she warms up to use the laser, use that time to lob a rocket in her mouth, to make the fight a little shorter. Needs expert timing though, because you need to be back into cover pronto, lol.

the bandits are handy for second wind. as long as you use cover, you'll wear him down eventually.

Second wind? in that fight? STAY BEHIND THE BARRIER IN THE ELEVATOR!! Mother-Skag can't even touch you there.

If you're a commando with Rockets on your Turret it's a breeze. Otherwise aim for the weak spot on her mouth. You can still snipe it when she's walking around if you aim carefully.

Does the position there behind the elevator control make a difference? I was doing just that thinking that she wouldn't be able to nail me there, and I was right up against the fence part of the elevator and she still got me. Do you have to line yourself up up in any certain way? I realize to be crouched, but the funny thing is, the game seems to sometimes not have any bandits down there , and then Dukino's Mom would come after me right away. All the Youtube videos I have seen show the player going down there and attacking Dukino's Mom and she never even pays any attention, she's attacking the bandits.

I just went in and killed her. I had a Torgue Rifle and a Shotgun and a turret.

In a sense, to the lefthandside of the barrier it is completely covered, the righthandside has gaps. Stay on the left.

After the elevator is down and you respawn from dying, jump across the elevator gap to land on the upper elevator railing. You can avoid most of her attacks from there and still attack her. It worked for me, at least.

I've been farming that one a bit with Axton. No need to die to do it.

Push the button for the elevator, turn, run and jump back on to the ground. Throw your turret down the shaft to the left or right. Stay up there and shoot it. To avoid getting hit, just back up. I suggest a high damage, corrosive weapon and/or a slag weapon switch up for double damage.
