Beginners question about the Unkempt Harold

I'm very new to BL2 and have almost zero experience with legendary weapons, but I had a lvl 34 Hard UH drop today. Now, at level 41 on TVHM, it's STILL wrecking pretty much everything even when enemies several levels stronger. Bosses and ultimate badasses are just as easy.

Usually I just loot the golden chest when I outlevel my guns but the lvl 40 purple weapons from the chest are vastly outranked by my harold. Are all legendaries this OP or is the harold an exception? And how often do you need to farm it from 50-72 on UVHM?

thats because it really is a powerful pistol, if you wish to farm for a better one, (but i wouldnt until you get to ultimate vault hunter mode) then the best prefix for the unkempt harold is the 'Double Penetrating Unkempt Harold).

yep. and if you're playing as Salvador (the Gunzerker) and dual-wield 2 DPUH's when Gunzerking, all while equipped with a Bee Shield, you'll pretty much hilariously wreck the living ♥♥♥♥ out of everyone in your path.

The Harold is an exception. There are only few guns which match its damage potential.

As Quagmire already mentioned, it is even more powerful in combination with the Bee shield. a lot more powerful. Due to the mechanisms of the combination (all "hidden" Harold bullets get full Bee amp damage), you could technically keep your level 34 Harold and get to level 72 with it, as long as your Bee stays more or less up to date.

Btw what class are you playing?
There are some similar combinations which work even better for some classes than Harold + Bee.

The gun is just one of the best.

Need? I'd probably say somewhere between 4-8 times, maybe. Depends on the player and stuff, though. It's very easy to get. Just get to the bar on normal mode and absolutely maul the bar a few times to get super fast tokens while you're watching a film or summat. Optimally, particularly end game, you want the highest possible level gear you can get, but I personally find that the DPUH goes a few levels before lagging behind.

The harold makes other legendaries look like white weapons.

Singularity grenades are great against stalkers. Makes them more... predictable.

For stalkers and rabid skags, I just fire at the floor near their legs. Usually works. "Lead the shots" so to speak.

yeah killing stalkers is a real pain with this, even moreso as Gaige. Luckily the horizontal spread is predictable, and the splash damage is huge, so better than most(?) pistols with her.

Kinda surprised to hear the UH is overpowered even stacked against other legendaries. Well, in a way it made the game a little TOO easy... no wonder I see all the "famous" youtubers using it with Salvador. :P

that's why I did a few test-kills using 2 DPUH's against a few mobs while Gunzerking, and I was thinking of that song "Bodies" by Drowning Pool while gibbing everything and everyone in sight

I usually just phaselock Rabid Stalkers and Skags.
