The sniper of these is the best feel, quick and accurate bullets into the squishy (critical) parts of enemies. The quick fire rate usually makes these a great gun.
Tediore - least
While you can toss them like grenades and that's good fun (or one way to kill Terram.) I find them to be lacking in the actual shooting of the gun compared to the other guns.
Just a quick comment on Maliwan, elemental weapons are fantastic if you choose the right element vs. the enemy. And, you pretty much will need elements late game. When you run into a boss with a hefty shield, you'll need a shocker to strip that shield more efficiently than a non-elemental. Not saying your preferences are wrong, though. Just saying elemental weps have their place.
I just like how their guns look and function really.Really love their AR's.
Least Favourite- None, although I dont use Bandit too often. Only Bandit gun that I extensively used was the Slagga.
2. Torgue
3. Vladof
4. Hyperian
5. Tediore
6. Jakobs
7. Bandit
8. Dahl
Hard choice between 1 and 3 because they all have thier usefulness, even harder choice between 5 through 8 since it's like picking which dirty diaper smells the nicest.
Gotta agree whole heartily with this although i may have to swap torgue and maliwan.
1. Vladof
2. Jakobs
3. Maliwan
4. Torgue
5. Hyperion
6. Tediore
7. Bandit
8. Dahl
I like Vladof and Jacobs for similar reasons. High Fire Rate and good damage.
Maliwan ise useful when you need elemental weapons. A SMG-focused Siren or Mechromancer should have at least one Maliwan SMG (unless they have powerful non-maliwan Unique/Legendary SMGs)
The only reason Torgue is as high as it is, is mainly because the Harold is so boss. Otherwise I usually consider them 'average'.
Only redeeming feature of Hyperion is the ♥♥♥♥♥, Conference Call, Butcher and some of the other Legendary or Unique guns. I generally don't touch Hyperion guns otherwise.
Tediore is only above Bandit because of the novelty. I generally find Bandit guns preferable and with better Legendary options.
Dahl is OK sometimes. It does irritate me when a perfectly good Sniper is ruined by that burst fire (though you can cancel it by exiting zoom, which is annoying to do).
The lists would vary a fair bit depending on whether you considered Red-Text weapons versus common weapons. If it was non-special weapons only as a factor, it would be more like this for me:
1. Vladof
2. Jakobs
3. Maliwan
4. Dahl
5. Tediore
6. Torgue
7. Bandit
8. Hyperion
Hyperion is dead last for me because of that 'increase accuracy as you fire'. It's terrible for snipers, and a lot of weapons don't have huge clip sizes so the bonus is lost on them. Sometimes by the time the accuracy boost is in effect, you've lost the element of surprise. So you're pissing away ammo and increasing the time to get shot. Vladof remains high for me because
If it was Unique/Legendary only as a factor, perhaps more like this:
1. Hyperion
2. Vladof
3. Maliwan
4. Jakobs
5. Torgue
6. Bandit
7. Dahl
8. Tediore
Just offhand, that last list. Based on the weapons I can remember and the manufacturers associated with them. Huge change in ranking for Hyperion eh? Torgue is again only as high as it is because of the Harold IMO. The Nukem is good
So IMO, overall the best weapons manufacturer is Jacobs, the worst are Dahl, Tediore, and Bandit I guess. Though a lot depends on how much importance you place on Legendary/Unique weapons. It can drastically skew the results.
Least Favorite-Tediore
2. Jakobs (Sniper Rifles)
3. Vladof (Pistols and Launchers)
4.Torgue (Shotguns and Launchers)
5. Maliwan (SMGs)
6. Tediore (SMGs and Pistols)
7. Bandit (Shotguns and Machine-guns)
8. Hyperion (A small number of Pistols)
Grenades, Doesn't really matter to me
mostly the smg are good (the E-tech's), they have elemental attachments and i love the bandit launchers
least favorite/less used: dahl
"Dahl, who need damage, large magazine size, accuracy or inafficent burst pattens (E-tech AR) when stabability trumps all. making an *reliable and efficent* weapon... Dahl! " - some guy.
don't get me wrong, the smg's and pistols are good, but the assault rifles and sniper rifles suffer with BL2 weapon mechanics, in BL1 they where great weapons but now... ye.
i miss S&S and Atlas...
without them there would be no
pimpernel
chain lightning
grog nozzle/rubi/bad touch/good touch
magic missile
flame of the firehawk
fireball
antagonist
legendary siren/binder/catalyst
florentine
norfleet
oh my the list goes on and on
i like jakobs with zero up until uvhm & torgue with krieg
least fav: bandit
I agree that the Increase Accuracy as You Fire perk really isn't among the greatest; and it is awful for snipers as your shots going zipping off into oblivion, but it does have a place. I do like that perk on SMG's, especially going into FFYL mode. When you're on the ground and youcan't scope, a nice SMG that'll get more an more accurate even at the hip, making the bullets coumt, has saved my life many times.
