Well, one thing I'm not worried about its fate is middle management barge of death, that's for sure. Blasted thing is so stupid, can't even see where Zag is with all the explosions.

Ah, so that's why I managed to beat it, after I figured out you need to tribute the settlers enough resources for a TC (I thought they would at least start with enough resources to build their first TC).

For me Cyan and Purple don't even establish colonies, their villagers just stand on the island. Grey and Orange do what they are supposed to do, but that alone isn't enough to complete the mission wihout cheating.

Can confirm, however reloading a save seems to fix the issue. Very annoying bug, not mentioning the design flaw of your ''allies'' snatching and then getting away with your relic, which they happily keep right in the centre of their bases, meaning you can't get it back and must go around them.
The mission also crashed for me once around the 20min mark.
This is probably the failed Hand Eye Coordination check for the spirit bomb. If you have enough Inland Empire (my character had about 7) and wear the Horrific Necktie while talking to the drunks, specifically the one that sells you stuff, it will tell you to buy the spirits and keep them. Once you finish the encounter with Ruby you get a purple thought bubble where you make what is basically a makeshift molotov cocktail, which you can use in the tribunal.
You also get a little more dialogue with the tie doing so. It counts as shooting Kortenaer btw, I guess you can save a bullet this way.

Tbh I was hoping for WW1. We'll see how it turns out. I guess if it sucks you can always go back to AoE 2.

Bug with sound
I'm not hearing the unit death sounds, is anybody having this issue? Feels weird to play Aoe 2 without them.

So I just concluded the tribunal and went to the island. Inside there is a bed, Kim asks if I want to rest there, and since there is nothing else to do there (can't reach the controls to open the blast door), I interact with it.
So I rest, and when I wake up Kim is nowhere to be seen. A purple thought bubble tells me to go outside.....
But I can't. The entrance of the bunker is not interactable. I'm essentially stuck. Can someone tell me if I'm supossed to do something else? I'll take spoilers at this point.

When it comes to non uniques I generally avoid:
Maliwan: Nothing really, overall I think they are pretty good.
DAHL: Sniper Rifles and AR's, unless that AR has the spinny Vladof barrel, because those can be decent.
Torgue: Nothing except AR's with the Torgue barrel.
Jakobs: Nothing, although I do admit that the non unique pistols can be a bit meh, but not too bad either.
Bandit: Everything.
Tediore: Nothing, but I tend to use those weapons as yeet machines anyways.
Hyperion: Sniper Rifles.
Vladof: AR's, unless said AR has the spinny barrel.

I'm overall pleased with what I saw. If there is one criticism that I could make, is that shields don't seem to have parts anymore ( if you look at the recorded gameplay streams, you can see that every Pangolin shield looks the same, every Anshin shield looks the same, etc....)
On the plus side, guns look and feel more like guns, I didn't like the Nerf gun aesthetic that BL2 adopted, even if did make them more unique. Gore is back, and that is good.
And finally DAHL seems to actually make guns that don't suck, which is good because they are my favorite manufacturer, but using DAHL guns in BL2 with the exception of a few select Legendaries and Uniques is nothing less than gimping yourself (god those non-unique DAHL AR's and Sniper Rifles suck, just like those pretzels).

There is no slag - we replaced it with something that actually makes a little sense. The new “element” damage type, which is like a nuclear radiation effect, has a similar effect to slag (increased vulnerability by those affected) and also has a damage-over-time component.
So basically BL1's corrosive. Let's see how the endgame balance will play out.

Yup, and we'll have to wait another 6 months for all those issues to be fixed, because you know, patches only coincide with DLC. (I'm seriously hoping that doesn't happen, both this issue and the mod issue are pretty severe and require patching ASAP).
