Stronger enemies and more ridiculous loot.
Zer0 Jul 31, 2014 @ 2:06pm
More challenging, get better equipment, increase your levels (cap is 72 + 8 OP levels).

Assuming they own the level packs.

As Bansheebot and Zer0 mentioned above, it's so you can face tougher challenges and get even better gear. Is it necessary? Probably not, but this is an ARPG so loot is the name of the game.

A lot changes and you can make a deal with yourself to do it differently, i.e. sticking to a weapon manufacturer, going it with minimal equipment, etc.

Its hard...really hard and obv better loot, tho i was playing solo and Zer0 (badly) currently about to restart fresh as someone more fitting my playstyle with a friend so should be better this time

I play it again for fun... yes... fun. I feel like I have definitely got my money's worth out of the game. Loved it so much, I bought the game twice with season pass. 1st when it came out for PS3, and then again when it was on Steam sale so I can play it for years to come. To each, his/ her own.

Honestly, the main story is secondary to me. My real fun came from playing each character and developing them in different ways. And from what I have seen on these forums, there are TONS of weapons and loot that I have not ever seen during my 1200 hours of play! Woo hoo!

I played through all 3 playthroughs and dlc's beause I love the game. I also have my other half and a couple of friends who would join in from time to time so I'd be jumping between my game and my friends depending on who needed to catch up on what. This is my favourite game, but at the end of the day it's each to their own. Some people, like myself, love the game and enjoy the challenge, others would rather enjoy the first playthrough and leave it at that. I've already completed it on my Playstation and still want to buy it for my PC. Simply because I can :)

I asked myself the same when I first finished Normal Mode.
I'm playing UVHM now and I love it, so challenging and fun, frustrating at times, but fun.

If you didn't enjoy the game the first time through, then there is no point.

I actually disagree with the premise that it is "the same story".

Even without any DLC, there are just so many side missions that you could never do all of them in a single playthrough without ending up 10-15 levels over what you should be. Sure, the main questlike is the same, but the path you take along the way is different.

The story is like 4th fiddle to other stuff in the game. Plus, there may be quests you never did the first time through.
