To redeem codes for different platforms, you enter the code and select a platform and then enter the same code again and select the other platform.
But there're also rewards that can only be redeemed for one platform (if that one then isn't linked you will get an error) and because they also expire it's advised to redeem them as soon as possible for all platforms you have linked.
And yes, although BL3 is not yet available on Steam, it's already a selectable platform there for BL3 golden keys etc. So don't waste time waiting and redeem them also for Steam now otherwise you will miss a lot until it is then available on Steam.
24/7 people is getting troubles with it.
The responses are not better , reinstall windows LUL

1. There are Shift codes for Goldenkeys, Skins, Diamond chest stuff etc.
2. There are Vault codes, Diamond codes, Email codes, Creator codes and Boost codes.
1.) Can be redeemed to a platform or different platforms
2.) Can be redeemed for Points that then can be used to buy Golden Keys, Skins, Weapons, Gear etc.
Also both expire, some are valid for a year or a month and others only for a day or even only hours. All of them can be redeemed at https://borderlands.com/en-US/vip-codes/
I already redeemed codes for over 40'000 points and then used 16'000 points for weapons to get a special weapon for. Problem is especially those codes for points expire fast (2-24h) and they now also get rare, so quite possible that people now won't even get enough points to buy enough weapons (4'000 points each) for the special weapon if they wait to long.
I also already redeemed about 35-50 Golden keys for BL3 (Xbox and Steam) and the codes for them are now also all expired.
So the ones waiting for BL3 being available on Steam, should now at least redeem all those codes for later, while they are still available.
thank you very much. I appreciate it..

Its not a possible weakness, its full blown. By the time the public finds out about a security exploit its old news to hackers. Somewhere right now there's whole warehouses of stacked computers (bots) everyone all dedicated to getting players to join so as to steal information. Dead Island anyone??
Not every person in existence is corrupted. LIke Sirius Black said in Harry Potter
“We’ve all got both light and dark inside us. What matters is the part we choose to act on... that’s who we really are.”
There are many good people in the world who do the right thing. just as there are many good companies in the world that do the right thing. Your not being datalogged or keylogged by AAA games. If you believe it to be true. I believe that is a reflection on those who believe it because that is what they would do.
But there are also many bad people and bad organisations out there too.
You see your point can just be turned around and therefore is just not really meaningful.
Also in the past we have evidence that a lot of data got stolen from Epic Games and also we got many people reporting on suspicious data collecting from their software. I know, just because they do it doesnt mean they use it for bad things. Maybe they need the data to get informations about how to make better games. Who know's right. In the end I as customer would like to have the option to decide myself if I want to let others collect data from me and my gaming though.
But you already said it: "I believe....." , when it comes to real things.....believing is as much helpfull as closing your eyes when standing in front of a tiger and then saying:"I dont believe this tiger exists", isn't it?
If you wanna know if you already got "pwned" you can check yourself here:
https://haveibeenpwned.com/
It's a well known site that lists all companies that had your email and this email with your password and maybe more got stolen from them.
Btw Im working in the IT for nearly 15 years now and one of my friends is leading luminary an founder of an Cybersecurity company, so no I am not just speaking from "believes".
So every bigger company gets at least two professional hacking-attempts per week and we dont count here scriptkiddies.
NO they are rare. The thing is even if you are bad you know you have to play the percentages. And one of those is destroying your reputation is a death penalty to a business. Anybody who thinks a developer would put a dataminer or keylogger in there games and risk being found out and totally destroying that company isn't thinking it out. Not going to happen. A keylogger or datminer could be easily detected by packert capture software which will tell you exactly what data your PC is sending out. Its expensive software. But it does exist.
Hey you are free to believe all what you want! Nobody is arguing with your "believing".
It's just very weird you claim it is easy to detect those things and say you can spot that with an packet analyzer (which is far from expensive, it is actually FREE to download). As if that's the only thing you need to find out about those things.
Also it is weird you think to know how "companies" make decisions based on the possibility of getting caught and therefore wouldnt do it. Just look what response EA gave towards the claim lootboxes are gambling. It's ALWAYS a two sided coin in 99% of the time. Also ever heard of the company "monsanto" ?
So you mean EA or Bethesda? ;)
Well I have no interests to educate or change someones opinion here and therefore I will back out of this discussion as it doesn't make sense to discuss "believes" or personal opinions when you know some people probably have little to no background in that matter. No offense!
