Can't Use Console Commands
My game was on D: drive, and not C: drive. As soon as i moved it, it worked perfectly. These two drives will, from my experience, almost always have a different format type, causing the game to improperly load these things. If you have your game on something other than C: drive, try moving it to C: first.

You haven't done the hex editing right. I PROMISE you that's why, if you would like then I can ask him myself.

I've done it over 10 times now, using the video and the (unofficial?) steam guide that has nearly the exact same instructions. I seriously don't understand what im doing wrong with the editing.

Add shadowevil1996 on Steam, he accepts all friend requests and he is online and will most likely answer your questions.

Alright, thanks

I talked to him. He said nothing looked wrong and couldnt find an issue with my hex editing. The problem isnt fixed though. File validation didnt work either. Any ideas are open at this point.

Well, I saw the same problem somewhere.
Did you tried to rename "patch.txt" to "patch.txt.txt"? I know, it sounds silly, but it helped toy friend.

I didn't, but thank you
So if you've hex edited correctly and rebound the console key (i think F6 is what they tell you to bind it on the youtube vid) i honestly can't see anything wrong with what you did... Although i wouldn't bind it to any key that may already be bound, check to make sure there's no overlap. If i can really dig into it, you probably screwed up the part where you change the unicode string for "say"..

This part of the video shows the hex editing of the "say" effect when you enter a command into the game (adds say, doest do anything)
https://youtu.be/o_ee3BM1TQQ?t=6m43s

If you have already done it and it's completely correct, then i do not know... You're just an odd case i guess (?)

From what i understand BL2 console commands aren't popular at all so it's hard to troubleshoot.

Just use the patcher from the one thread on reddit. Makes it super easy.
「CAPPYTALYSM」 May 16, 2017 @ 12:08pm
Can you link the thread?
pill cosby May 16, 2017 @ 12:54pm
I don't think he knows what the community patch is. And you can just google it.

Right. Linking the reddit thread would probably be far more helpful of me than just stating it exists, my bad. Here. https://www.reddit.com/r/Borderlands/comments/5xvdnh/borderlands2patcher_patcher_for_borderlands2exe/

I have followed the instructions on the steam guide, and Shadow's official installation video to a T, and it still does not activate as a command.
THAT SUCKS WHEN I CAN'T USE CONSOLE BECAUSE DUMB SIMPLE ERRORS GET IN THE WAY!!!!
