All in all, you could always turn on/off some options of the mod if you don't like them.
About your save question, you have to manually "launch"mods each time you start the game or save & quit so just make a character you want to use mods with and you're good to go it won't conflict with any other save.
Edit : woops forgot about the save location : C:\Users\%USERNAME%\Documents\My Games\Borderlands 2\WillowGame\SaveData (each char save is formated as SaveXXXX.sav)
When I first started using it the changes were subtle enough but noticeable that like McCollyflower stated it feels like a new game really. To me personally I feel like the game leveling is smoother but that could just be my imagination lol. Overall I enjoy the mod considering the number of hours I have put in this game before and after giving it an honest try I prefer it over original game play right now.
The awesome thing about this is that you can literally play with or without it but I highly recommend you remember which characters are using it because switching in and out can cause weird issues including completely disastrous results to your save. I accidentally loaded a character played for hours then realized I wasn't running the mod and then when I loaded it I lost my entire inventory due to item changes lol was my bad.
I've been playing it for a few days, and having put thousands of hours into BL2 it really is a breath of fresh air.
Be sure to not have too many misconceptions though. I did. And my first play through suffered for it.
If you have played lots of BL2 you will notice boss drops/ quest rewards/ almost all the things that you will expect to drop (or farm for) will not drop from that same boss/quest.
I found a speed relic called Godspeed (which replaces the one from Ellie) at around level 50, it changes your movement and your vehicle. Completely changes the way I setup my siren.
So long as you expect a NEW experience, I can't see anyone not enjoying it. Got my recommendation 100%

you can check the box for item descriptions in blcmm launcher ... then red text is explained and you get item parts and what their effects are....
the best thing about reborn is the new classmods for each class.... allows for a more versatile endgame.... in vanilla you have what... 2 endgame builds for each character... MAX.
I enncourage everyone to try it out ... also works for the presequel. enjoy until september... then we wait for bl3 community patch/ reborn ^^
Some of us have a full year to play BL2 Reborn.
If there is a knock on BL2 Reborn, it might wreck your BL3 experience. I just watched Gamespots impressions of BL3 on YouTube. They said how fast and fluid the gameplay is in BL3 compared to BL2. With some of the relics in Reborn that increase character speed, jump height, and FFYL time; Reborn can get really fast paced and hectic. You can really push the envelope in Reborn where you really should not in BL2. This is especially true on Normal and TVHM.
