Idk.
I liked the idea of her modified phaselock, but I do NOT like the fact that the one that spreads breaks immediately when damaged. Maya's phaselock was insanely powerful for crowd control when built correctly. Amara's feels more like a knockoff. A siren-lite.
Did you go to the BL3 site and read the skill trees? Because FL4K had a few skills that made him sound far more interesting than he had before I read them. And Zane's doppleganger tree sounds...hectic.
Edit: My biggest peeve is that there are so few 'ally' type abilities. There were lots of ally support skills in BL2. But now Zane is the only one who has more than two.
The only thing that makes Amara sound interesting to me is her skill makes elemental status procs have a chance to nova with a random additional element. She'll definitely be the room sweeper in her elemental build.
Personally, one of his skills that interested me was the rift that made your pet go radioactive (literally) and gain size, strength, and even durability with the right skills.
turns out he's a more flexible mordecai. still good but not my preferred fighting style. i prefer to close the gap and pummel. hopefully grenades will cause AI to scatter so i can use that to close the gaps more safely
It's nice to have different characters perform different roles even if they are of the same class, so that people who prefer one role over another can still have a go at different classes. So someone who preferred other roles over support can now play Siren and have more variety than having to play support if choosing Maya's support skill tree.
In the current skill trees, there's nearly no support at all.
Moze gives a bit of shield regen, that odd 'lower fire rate but increase bullet damage', and 'fire damage on reload to self and allies.
FL4K has a pet that can attempt to rez. A non-moving portal that can heal allies when they're nearly standing on it. And up to 50% of his personal health regen gets given to allies.
Amara gets a 30% of her action skill damage heals self or ally. Movement speed to allies, but only on Amara's personal kill. And very minor cc with her new phase grasp. It can be slotted to grasp additional enemies when the enemy held dies, but only in limited number.
Zane's support abilities seem to all be based on his barrier. Movement speed. Damage when shooting through it. Damage when it breaks. Health regen. Shield recharge delay. Reload speed. The barrier itself can become a dome instead of a wall. The barrier can stun any enemy that touches it for limited cc. He also has many freezing type cc talents for himself that can nova and control the battlefield.
All four have at least one ability that increases the damage enemies take, so I left those out.
In BL1 the best support was Roland the soldier. Anyone who went down his turret support tree should remember the absolutely insane amount of healing, ammo regen, grenade regen, etc he gave the whole team.
In BL2 Maya was the main support with her healing tree, and the ridiculous amounts of cc she could do with her kinetic tree.
In BL3, support seems almost ignored. Zane's abilities are nice, but weak. And not everyone is going to want to leave their cover to run to the barrier, lol.
It also isn't possible to USE all the support abilities at once no matter the build, since most of them are the 'augment' skills that you can only add two of to an ability. The ones that look like a chevron.
BL3 feels like every character is meant to go alone, and team play was an afterthought. Even the loot became solo in 'team' mode unless you actively shut it off, lol.
