PC Gamer Pop-Up

Since setting up an account with Shift (roughly 3 days ago); twice I've got a PC Gamer Pop-Up while playing Borderlands 2. The Pop-Up sits on top of the game window (taking up about 20% of the screen) until you acknowledge it with [CLOSE]; which, of course, sends the game into the background.

The only change I've made to my computer since prior to this starting is signing up with Shift. So is this a known issue? Is it being caused by Shift? Or is it just a coincidence that this has started now???

You using Windows 10 by any chance and have visited PC Gamer online and allowed "notifications"???

Never had the spam popping up over my games --which would piss me off to no end (inconsiderate, ignorant, cut & paste code monkeys should all be publically executed)-- but have had the notifications thing running before; got a little tedious after a while so turned the sh!t off.

Could be an awesome feature if it was correctly developed & managed (notifications), but the whole MS Messenger (MSM) spam sh!t is so Win2K (I remember).

Definitely a coincidence, go to your browser and disable notifications for PC Gamer.

There are no popups in the game and especially not for 3rd party stuff, sounds like downloaded or allowed some adware from something else.

Thanx All... much Appreciated. I went under Chrome/Settings to Pop-Ups and Ads... and both were already set to Block All. However... I added PCGamer.com to the Block List... just in case. Now I'll just have to see if it happens again.

But again... thanx for the input. It helps to know what's NOT causing it as well!!!
