Very limited inventory is killing my enjoyment of the game
I bought the game recently and love everything about it, except the fact that inventory space is very limited and I have to spend so much time managing it and choosing which items do I need less. Then I end up being frustrated instead of just continuing farming or doing missions and I give up playing. Yes I know there are stash upgrades - they don't do ♥♥♥♥ to be fair, it's nowhere near enough.

Most of my space is taken by class augments that I'd like to keep for later when I want to try another build, it's not even weapons at this point. Are there any mods that can increase stash by a lot? Any insight or tips? I really want to keep playing but at this rate I'll probably uninstall the next time I get 5 awesome drops and have to dump 4 of them

You start with a very small inventory and the more you play your character the larger an inventory you can have by simply upgrading it.

There is absolutely no need for insanely large inventories. It could be nice ot have, but then you'd also need a better system then a simple list.
But like this - you only have 8 spots for equipment, yet fully upgraded your inventory is 39 slots. So even if you are a hoarder and have 2 replacements for every slot you still got space at the end. And there is hardly a need for so many items on your character.
no, there undeniably is need for it. In a game revolving purely around loot and item variety restricting inventory space is one of the dumbest things you can do. And yes, UI design is terrible but what can you do

You could hex-edit your Borderlands2.exe and reach backpack space of 255 max, and vault space of 42 max. It can be found from https://github.com/c0dycode/Borderlands-Hex-Multitool and the .zip comes with a readme that explains some things.
Thanks, I'm gonna do that and start having fun with the game again. Can this get me banned in online play though?

No, there clearly is Not.
While the game has a wide variety of weapons, MOST of them are not good equipment and you use them untill you find something better - which is very likely another okeyish weaposn cause of a higher level.
And once you get to the point where you are going for legendaries you are also at the point were you want certain specifiy weapons to use in specific situtations.
You do not need 5 different slag-pistols, that will give you no benefit, or having 3 fire SMGs.

That is what our bank is for.
In general you hardly ever need more than 8 weapons, specially at once in one area. For everything else you can just teleport back to sanctuary and swap it.

Nope. Gaming isnt for everyone. Just 99.9% of the population.

The only reason against that I've seen people say so far is 'until you get something better'. Which... at endgame tier isn't so much the case anymore since you don't level up to get higher tiers of guns. You get the ultimate best combination of a gun and that's it. There are also six different types of ammo, and an absurd amount of shields that are absolutely better for certain situations. EG: Bee shield if you're going for DPS and maybe evolution if you're going for survivability in elemental happy areas. Basically, at the point of the game I'm at, having to throw my guns that have perfect stats that I farm up on a mule instead of just holding onto them is just annoying. Mule characters exist because they have to, due to having such a tiny inventory. At minimum we need a bigger transfer stash.

There is literally no way to get banned outside of specific hosts kicking you. However, if you edit your inventory/bank space and you join someone that doesn't have the mod installed, your max bank/inventory space gets cut to the default. So if you have over that you can't pick up anything in their game. However, you do keep your existing stuff and going back into your own game as host gives you back the extra space again. I honestly agree with you on the inventory space. Ironically I straight up HAVE to use elements+slag for OP 10 difficulty or the game is impossible due to regen. If I run out of ammo for one gun type, having other guns that have that element can mean the difference between living or dying. And when you're doing gauntlet runs on digistruct peak, you don't have the luxury of restocking ammo or going to your bank to swap out stuff on the fly.

dude, idk how you could think that is not enough. i personally am farming at the highest possible levels, i have different gear almost for every raid boss or different occasions. my bank is not full and not even my inventory. you must be carrying dozens of stupid sh*t. 39 of inventory space is more than enough
Prot3ctor has a very valid point. There's more than ample space available.

Collecting better gear is one thing, but collecting everything you might think is nice is nuts. Choices must be made.

Feeling it a bit too all the new stuff. I like having a few open slots so i can pick stuff up for ammo and they are disapearing lol.
36 backpack space is pretty big

I think you're just a hoarder =P

You don't put them in the bank?
Tymon 2019年6月16日 18時56分
Let's do some comparing. Borderlands 1... You could have 72 inventory slots in your inventory ALONE. Couple that with the fact you ALSO got an additional 42 bank slots. Compare that to 2... where the maximum inventory space, across bag+bank+claptrap's storage is only 67. The fact you could have a bigger inventory all by itself, alone in BL1 compared to literally every single storage available in 2? And 1 had only a fraction of the unique items and content that 2 has.

+1

Tiny inventory in a game with several classes and a gazillion guns is not the best combo.

In many players' opinions, this has been the Borderlands' franchise's biggest disappointment: gajillion guns, shields, grenade mods, and COMs... barely several dozen slots to carry your favorites.
Even the bank space is too limited if you like farming and trying to "one-up" the last good gun you got from a certain boss or area.

We can digistruck an entire vehicle from a catch-a-ride, but can't carry more than, what, 60-odd items in the original BL if you managed to get most of the backpack SDUs on the second run thru?
BL2 and PreSequel are, what, not even 60.

That's just bad design.
Hard to hoard off with loot from a boss farming mission when you can't even carry half of the good stuff because you're almost full as it is.

Becomes difficult to enjoy it when you're spending so much time running back and forth from a loot rain to a vendor to sell, return, repeat, etc.

yes there is for ♥♥♥♥ sake, unless you only want to play 1 or 2 specific builds, which I assume most people do not. The fact that inconvenient bs like mules exist shows how out of their minds the devs were when restricting inventory
