Can you level up with bots?
Like this command Open VNTE-Hill937?minplayers=64?maxplayers=64?timelimit=1 200
i got level 4 and then when i restarted the game i was level 0...
does it reset because i play with bots?

Another thing too is go to the shooting range, under boot camp in the menu. Fire all the guns available at least once to get a feel for them, maybe try and hit all the targets. Maybe try out the choppers too. If you need any help or advice, feel free to ask.

I think people are generally just annoyed with the word "bots" because over the past year we've had non stop spam of seeing comments like "add bots pls" "bots" stuff like that. A lot of people think they don't have a place in a multiplayer game. I think they're okay, but maybe just for practicing / tutorials / training.

You learn the game by playing Online trust me, fighting bots is no where near what fighting real people is like, go through the training then hop on a server, learn from others thats the best way of getting good at this game

There are two parts to the OP.
1) learning the game offline with bots
2) getting XP for it

I have no problem with others learning things offline, that's how I test out all sorts of things you can't do in a match. But he also wants XP for it, which is just silly.



To OP:
Feel free to continue learning the maps and weapons offline if you want to, but you won't get any points in offline play. Even on empty servers online, you won't get points since it requires a minimum number of human players on the server before the points are counted.

Right petiatil, many of us open up maps in console and either fly around or walk a new map around once it comes out. But you really got to play at some point.

Minimum 8 players IIRC for XP to start counting.

Bots in this game would only teach you how to play the game wrong. Teaching you bad habits which will only get you killed. Putting you in an even worse position than if you started off by jumping in the deep end.

People got weirdly aggressive at this question, but what they're saying is pretty true. It's recomended to go into the actual games with your learning cap on. Listen to your fellow players, learn from experiences, and you'll do fine. It might feel like you're a baby chick in a meat grinder, where all the other high level players are sharp gnashing teeth, but that's how we all began.

You'll learn much better, and much faster with actual matches. The bot AI in this game is exceedingly poor, and they can barely be used for target practice.

No, I hope they never make bots give xp. It take ZERO effort to go against bots. They can see you for a whole 3 seconds before even attempting to shoot and when they do they are usually a horrible shot. Rare times they will aimbot you but its rare.

Bots should stick to single player. If they get in the MP by some miracle any server with them running should have xp disabled.

Play the game with other the way it is suppose to be played, Bots are great for learning the basics. If you play alot of FPS games you should have no issue slowly gaining your skill in this game. 50hrs and you should know most maps and weapons. 100 hrs and your gud.
