SENRAN KAGURA SHINOVI VERSUS

SENRAN KAGURA SHINOVI VERSUS

Working "Un-censored" mod
https://www.undertow.club/threads/senran-kagura-shinovi-versus-uncensor-mod-no-umod.8967/

Up there is where I found the mod that I use to remove all light beams and character face drawing forms of censorship from the game. Finally you can play the game and just look at the barbie doll models and ask yourself "why did they censor this?"

What happened with Strike Witches?
if i remember correctly full exposure of loli vag xD

Personally, I feel that adding actual nudity to this game takes away a lot of its charm.

And I put it in those terms.
These mods are not "removing censorship".
They are "adding nudity" that was never there in the first place.

I just find that staying within the boundaries of the suggestive, without crossing into explicit, adds to the fun and style of the game.

>>>>>That said<<<<<
I am a strongly in favor of players having total freedom to do whatever they want with the software on their own systems. Mods are very much an expression of this.

If there are people that want to mod the game to add nipples, then they should go ahead and do it. And I will not stand for anyone that says that shouldn't be allowed.

So please, mod the game, share those mods.
Let everyone enjoy the game the way they want to.
I won't be installing any of the nude mods myself but I'll be keeping an eye out to see what other mods are put together.

I too find the methods of obscuring rather amusing. I mean, chibi heads, they are just so funny. Watching someone have a serious conversation while they are covered up by cute versions of their face is just awesome.

On Hello, thank you for your very first module
He made me more motivated to play this game

That using your module, I found your module is based on the English language to make
The players use the Japanese language, after using the module, will in some person's name into English
Implore you can be based on a modular system under heavy Japanese language.
This module can allow more complete. thank

The big smileys just look really weird, not to mention cover up more than when they had their clothes still on. I don't get why they didn't have some sort of pasties. You could even customize them! Little yen coins, sword hilt guards, band-aids, stars, hearts, cat paws, sushi, etc.

Lost opportunity there, for sure.

I do feel like there was a bit of a lost opportunity with the lingerie sets. They get a little samey unless you're really into dressing them up, and there aren't enough goofy cute sets like that.

I noticed this game had the same publishers as AKIBA'S TRIP: Undead & Undressed & was already expecting it would be censored in a similar (if not the same) manner; came to these forums to verify whether that was the case & here we are... I didn't purchase the aforementioned for this reason, I won't be purchasing this one either it seems; marking the game as "Not Interested" so it doesn't show up in my queue again.

EDIT: I just noticed that this thread is for a "working" MOD, which means I read it wrong, since I thought it said he was working ON the MOD. So perhaps I will get the game if that mod is still working.

It's a pretty fun hack n slash fighting game with or without the stupidly done censorship. none of it changes how fun it is as a game.

The game is completely uncensored, it just has no nudity, because Japan doesn't allow full out nudity in the first place, it would have been censored if they altered the outfits or removed content in order to show less they, the developers did not.
The end of the trailer on Steam kind of points out the censorship, however I considered that might possibly be done only for the trailer, which was why I attempted to confirm it on the forums. I believe I had this argument with you on the AKIBA'S TRIP: Undead & Undressed forums & I don't feel like going into it with you again while you continue to claim it's "satire" or an "art style", so I'm just going to take what I can verify & jot this one down as another purchase I won't make (unless an uncensor patch should be released in the future; I eventually purchased Saints Row IV once an unofficial one became available, but wouldn't purchase it before I found one that was verified as working).

The current mod is a mix of two mods actually, one adds another tier of clothing damage (destroyed bra) and re-textures nipples and a vajayjay on all models, the others remove the smoke and light beams from transformations.

Took 5 mins on google.

I should be the one apologizing, I just assumed you were the same person without verifying whether that was the case because it seemed like the same argument that just dragged on and on and on... Eventually that guy agreed it was censorship, however I don't think he was really taking the fact it WAS censorship seriously.

I said the term "censorship" is wrong because the game is the same unedited and uncut as the japanese release, and I said the girls are "cleverly covered up" because japanese rating boards do not allow full out nudity, pretty sure the producer would have done that otherwise xD
It's censorship regardless of how you look at it. Even if the publisher censors the game themselves & that censorship is carried on between EVERY SINGLE RELEASE of the game. As I stated in the thread for the other game, the problem is when the censorship is obvious, as apposed to censorship that people might not notice if they haven't done their research on it. Were it not obvious censorship, I probably wouldn't be making a big deal out of it.

There are several reasons why a game may get censored:
  • The developers censored the game themselves while they were developing it.
    • One instance of this not so long ago that should be easy to understand would have been BMX XXX, where the game got censored by the developers because they wanted to be able to sell it in normal local stores rather than having to force people to purchase it at a specialty store; the game got censored on 2 systems but not the 3rd (between PS2, XBOX & Gamecube), the game still wasn't stocked in those stores regardless.
    • Another example would be South Park: The Stick of Truth where it was censored on release in Europe & Australia due to content regulations that would have prevented the game from being released there; the was easily one of the most obvious of censoring, seeing as they actually made it a point to mock those countries & state why that content was removed.
    • And let's not forget the The SIMs series, which is another game that the developers wrecked as far as I'm concerned (I literally get a migraine trying to play this game with the censoring).
  • The game gets censored after a given incident that may have caused controversy:
    • A prime example would have been Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, where it first received the censoring mentioned above by disabling the coffee shop mode in the game, but not fully removing that code. It wasn't until after game enhancers unlocked that dormant code on console system that the game got re-rated as an AO game under ESRB guidelines, which meant the game couldn't be sold on console systems in the US. The second time this game got censored, the game had to have that code physically removed & the game re-released to keep the M rating. This also resulted in lawsuits against those game enhancer companies, which later had all uncensor/nude codes pulled from those devices via online updates. I stated before about the censoring in The SIMs; the pulling of uncensor code from those game enhancer devices was the reason why I refuse to purchase games in that series on console systems anymore.
  • The game gets censored after it gets released in a new country:
    • Both Killing Floor & Giants: Citizen Kabuto had topless or nude characters in those games, which later had textures put over the points they thought would be a problem.
    • Going back to South Park: The Stick of Truth, this game got pulled from sales in Germany after it's release due to swastikas in the game that hasn't been noticed during the review of the game, which is illegal in Germany. This should go without saying why you won't legally see a Wolfenstein game being released in Germany.
    • Another example would be Cosmonautica, which I understand got censored on the crapping animations in the game, but I never noticed them, so I believe it may have only been censored in certain countries.
    • In the case of Azure Dreams, the 7th love interest was changed to something else (I'm still not sure what seeing as I haven't gotten that far in the game yet) when it hit the US seeing as the 7th love interest was originally Gosh & it was determined by the developers that same-sex relationships wouldn't be accepted in the US (at the time it was released in the US) & they changed that content to avoid causing an uproar.
  • The most extreme forms of censoring is when a game gets pulled entirely due to content in the game, which is something that nearly happened to Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas after the game enhancer incident, at least on console systems if they didn't do what they needed to to retain the M rating:
    • Seduce Me was a game that got submitted to Steam Greenlight, that was promptly pulled from it due to being an adult game (AO ESRB rating). While the game still got released, the game would have never seen the day of light on Steam... There were other games that got submitted to Greenlight that saw this same treatment, but this one in particular is one I followed after it was pulled.
    • There was another game that got submitted to Steam Greenlight that had an AO-rating based on violence & gore (can't remember the name of it). Moderators quickly pulled the game on the rating alone, however Gaben later stepped in & overrode the decision seeing as the rating was not based on sexual content (like most games get the rating for).
    • I've already mentioned the Wolfenstein series in Germany, so I won't go into much detail on that beyond what I've already said.
    • Australia has guidelines against strong sexual & violent games, which is why a number of games such as the Grand Theft Auto series wouldn't show up there.
    • The United States classified animated underage sexual situation as illegal in 2006 when Bill HR 4472 was passed, making those situation classified as underage porn & punishable under the same laws.

There are several forms of censoring in games; I've mentioned a number of them above, so I won't go into much detail on games that got hit by them:
  • The content is censored using censor bars, mosaic censoring or in the case of this game, chibi censoring; anything to obstruct view of that content.
  • Textures are added to the originally textures to make the censoring more natural & perhaps not even noticeable by those who didn't know about it.
  • Dialog may be changed to change the instance of a situation from something that might be considered as offensive, such as underage or same-sex situations.
  • In some cases that content my be replaced, such as what happened in Azure Dreams on it's US release.
  • The content gets disabled, with the option to restore the content through uncensor patches. There have been a number of games like this that have been released on Steam, where the developers decided they still wanted the user to be able to enjoy the original experience through an official patch to uncensor the game (there are still restrictions to this however, as you'll see below).
  • The content may get fully removed. If you've notice a number of Japanese visual novels showing an Steam lately, a good number of them were originally hentai games (or at least has sexual situations & some of them being underage). Those games had that content pulled to get them on Steam & didn't gave an option to have it restored through patches or even MODs. This was also attempted in games like Bonetown when submitting it to Steam Greenlight. Some very big titles in Japan had good chunks of the storyline, minigames & reward cinematics/images removed from the game for this reason. Most of the time it's unnoticeable, but when somebody mentions it on the official forums on those games (which is almost guaranteed to happen, especially by those that are aware of it), then people start looking at other games to see how this is effecting those games as well.
  • The game is fully pulled, which means the game won't be sold anymore...

As for the patch, they'll hardly do it, because there's nothing to patch, iirc even the "naked" models have no nipples, so modders got creative with adding textures for the nipples/naked mod, however as you can gauge from this very thread, people are modding in/already modded in additional nudity, so you could always use those mods in case
I'm not going to argue with that; this isn't a patch, it's a MOD, however these types of MODs are normally referred to as a patch, even if that's not the case. In the case of AKIBA'S TRIP: Undead & Undressed, you have bandaids over those areas once you remove the unnatural censoring (which modders found out as they were attempting to create the uncensor patch), which would have been more acceptable natural censoring than the floating lights (I might have purchased the game if that was the case). Much like this game, the Saints Row series also don't have any chest/groin textures once you remove the censoring. The reason why I take issue with censoring is when it's obvious censoring; Killing Floor is one of my favorite games despite the censoring & if I can find uncensor patches that will help me avoid the illnesses I'm going to get while trying to tolerate obvious censoring, this might give me a reason to purchase those games in the future (as has been the case with the SR series). After the GTS:SA situation, I still have not fired up a SIMs game on a console system even if I do already own them (personally I'm trying to sell them at this point).
