Yeah there must be no dissidents. Geez, no wonders devs believe they can keep away with things like this and actually do it where there are drones like you who defend them to death for FREE
Stop droning. please
Also, I think it is fine to have a critique for a game but I don't think it is great to actively discourage others from buying a game unless there are game breaking bugs or nefarious microtransactions or other things going on that you'd typically see from some unnamed AAA game publishers.
What you are basically saying, and let me quote you here:
Yes, I reordered what you said, and took some things out of context but my point is that you admit the game is well designed and fun, and you are not just asking others to not support TEVI but instead you are begging them to NOT support TEVI. I think it should be everyone's freedom to choose whichever game, developer or publisher people want to support. Are some games, developers or publishers worth that support? No, probably not, but I still think everyone should decide that for themselves rather than decide it for others.
Just because your opinion of the game is somewhat negative (despite of it being, according to you, "well designed and fun"), it doesn't mean others shouldn't have a chance to try it out and see it for themselves.
Another thing I'd like to say is that although TEVI discussion area would have been a lot better place for this than here, you could have wrote a proper review for the game and give it red "not recommended" stamp. When your lamentation is here then those players who find about TEVI by other means than through Rabi-Ribi have lower chance to see your message.
Anyway, I have nothing against your freedom of speech or your personal opinions. It's just that I don't think this is a proper place for what you are saying and I don't think it's nice to discourage others from checking out a game they could potentially like, and a negative review would be a better place for that. Those are the only things I have an issue with in your post.
I am a bit mixed on the art. The actual art in-game per se (Aka the maps and sprites themselves) are good, maybe even better (Debatable) than Rabi’s, however I can’t quite get used to the character portrait style. I think I can already say with like 95% security Rabi-Ribi’s portraits were definitely better for me.
Music is just OK thus far. I only really found 1 actually catchy one, but who knows, might grow overtime.
Again, just very early impressions. So far I am having a good time, but tbh I expected no less. I try to look at Tevi as it’s own game, rather than a direct sequel (I mean... it technically is a spiritual succesor rather than an actual Rabi Ribi 2) I attempt to not compare the two directly because, well, pretty much any other game is going to have a hard time when compared to Rabi Ribi. That is just unfair. Yet I can’t completly ignore the fact they are the same devs, so yeah, things are really interesting.
Ultimately I am liking it and that is what matters the most I think.
.
(edit:) Having completed my first playthrough now, I'm still not entirely sure what the OP is talking about. I guess I could see some of the art being "creepy" if you mean it like, "that creature and this whole decay thing is creepy" but that's not really the art itself being ugly but the subject. Which fits perfectly well within the game, might I add.
As others have pointed out, it's likely a troll post - Though I don't get why people turn to trolling unless they're like literally so low on steam points that they can't get some profile pic from the point shop or something... But I guess they got their attention and points anyway.
Though I do feel kinda bad for them if it's genuinely just a case of someone being upset about going into a game thinking it's Rabi-Ribi 2 and getting TEVI instead. It's not the devs' fault IMO and I don't really think it was advertised as such either - the demo was there to test it out and I think it showcased the style and gameplay perfectly well for what the game is...
...But I realize sometimes emotions can take over so I can't really blame this (probably young) user either since a post like this isn't really that big of a deal.
.
Also a tip for other users reading this: if you think something is a troll (or otherwise so stupid it might as well be a troll), spending points to award them the jester just signals that it's effective. Obviously go ahead if you get joy out of it - just remember that blocking users is an option and I can personally vouch that it makes the whole community experience so much better for you.
In my opinion, the art is not Rabi-Ribi level of cuteness but it's not ugly.
VAs are definitely not talentless and out of place.
Will comment about the other aspect of the game when I complete it in my own review I guess.
Also Waero made this game, big plus for me.
Then you have the audacity to leave a negative review on Rabi-Ribi! Such shameful, traitorous behavior.
