Linux version unofficially available
Good news for all Linux users - the Linux version is as of now unofficially available. Because AMD is not supported in this version (you can try, but it's likely that the game will crash or there will at least be a lot of graphical issues) and we'd like to collect user feedback first, we've decided to not feature the Linux version on the steam page, yet.

All backers and everyone else who already bought the game will be able to install it using the steam client on Linux, though.

EDIT: Anyone having problems launching the game via Steam, try manually starting the executable outside of Steam.

Have fun and please let us know if there are any problems.

Get a small glimpse here (filmed at the office): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aEYhlrFnRUg&feature=youtu.be

Good news everyone :)
@rockfish_andi : Do you use the latest version of Unreal Engine 4 ?
Because "Astrokill", an other space game with this same Engine has the latest version and the crash has been fixed :
https://github.com/EpicGames/UnrealEngine/pull/3901
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=101977

I will buy the game to test it and report informations about issues.
I have an AMD Rx560 + Mesa 17.2 + llvm5

Anyone else here who plays with controller? I've found that LS and RS buttons (for boost and locking onto targets) wasn't working on my logitech F310

I tried going into the keybindings and setting them manually, when I went to set them manually it set them as "Left Stick Down" and "Right Stick Down" when I click the buttons down

After doing this, it's left stick down that makes me boost instead of left click

Just thought I'd mention this, anyone else getting an issue like this or just me?

Edit: going to use antimicro for the timebeing for those two buttons, everything else seems to function correctly on my gamepad so far

Release Linux Mint 18.2 Sonya 64-bit
Kernel Linux 4.10.0-33-generic x86_64
MATE 1.18.0

No, we're still at 4.16 - so most likely the game will crash on AMD. We'll migrate to 4.17 sooner or later, but it might take some time. First of all - we've had some bad experiences with quickly installing upgrades and are now usually waiting until a few engine hotfiixes and patches have been released. And then the migration itself might take a few days or weeks (some engine migrations went really smooth, others took a long time and were causing a lot of problems - so it's hard to tell)
Million thanks for the Linux love and dedication, hard work! Will get this as soon as i can and spread the word =)

Is there any chance of seeing an FPS cap in-game one day?

I'm running on a pretty old card now, a 760 2gb coupled with my i5 4690k and 900p is my native

Spent alot of time playing this game on the Windows build and while I got FPS drops they were very minimal with maybe the maximum FPS drop of about 45fps in most heavy scenes

But on this build it seems to shoot straight down to 30fps, I've not been using linux long but understand it's implementation of vsync is different because of X server or whatever

From what I can gather it's using double buffer and not triple buffer?

I turned Vsync off and that drop to 30fps suddenly turned to only a drop to 54fps.. While I don't mind tearing my cooling isn't really sufficient enough to run uncapped

Would be nice to be able to just limit the framerate without vsync, or if there is already a way to do so through a config file would come in handy for folk like me with older specs

Sounds like libstrangle will help you and not just for this game https://github.com/torkel104/libstrangle
