VR Minimum Requirements - Please read before buying
In order to play the game in VR the following minimum specs are required:

  • Oculus or Vive headset (only these are officially supported)
  • Intel i5-4590 (or alike)
  • NVIDIA GTX 1060 / NVIDIA GTX 970 / AMD Radeon RX 480 / AMD Radeon R9 290 (or better)
  • 8GB+ RAM
  • XInput compatible gamepad

Please note that even on low settings it is highly likely that the game will lag should your hardware not meet these requirements.

As of version 1.0 there is a setting in the game's display options called "Screen Percentage". Apart from the standard graphics settings, use this setting primarily to find the best balance between quality and performance.

To reset the camera orientation in the game, press F8 or hold "Special Left" on your gamepad

I have successfully got this working in VR with my Gear VR / galaxy S9 plus. Using the Riftcat/Vridge software. And that with a very low spec PC. (Gtx 760, i5 4440 3,1 ghz, 16 gb ram). I guess I had to set the graphics settings pretty low, but the fps is playable.
Not sure if this thread is still looked at by the dev, but played in VR on the Vive, and it was totally unplayable. The framerate was not the issue.

The rader is bound to your head, and very jittery. It shakes a lot when I'm barely moving. Nice idea to let you aim where you're looking, but it really does not work. You should keep the aiming UI bound to the ship's front window, and maybe have an option to swap to headbound.

Also please include graphic options for VR that are separate from Non-VR mode. I play on Epic settings on my screen, and custom settings in VR as Epic lags a lot in VR for me.

PC Specs:
CPU - i7 4771
GPU - GTX1080
RAM - 16gb DDR3 ram
OS - Win 10 Pro
VR Headset - HTC Vive

Hello, this seems to be a Vive-specific issue introduced with our 4.20 engine update, the head-locked UI appears jittery at very low performance. There is one graphics setting with high impact that you can adjust independantly in VR and non-VR mode, the "screen percentage" setting in the "advanced" menu. Also make sure to set your anti-aliasing method to off or FXAA in VR.
well worked with WMR just add -vr in shortcut
Doesn't work AT ALL in Oculus VR mode.
Specs are I7-6700K (Currently not overclocked)
16 GB of RAM
GTX 1070
Win 10 Pro
Oculus Rift CV1 with Touch controllers.

While it goes into the main menu on the PC screen, it does absolutely nothing on the headset. Besides that, the game completely locks up my PC, making it impossible to Alt-Tab (which shows the alt-tab menu but doesn't actually switch active program when doing it) or Alt-F4 out of the game. Opening task manager does nothing either

Hello, we don't currently support touch controllers. Are you getting the same problems with the touch controllers disabled and playing with mouse/keyboard or gamepad?
How do you get VR to work in general? I get the main menu and as soon as I start the game I go gray screen in the headset and the game runs in desktop mode suddenly. Its pretty frustrating.I'm using a VIVE btw.

Hello, how are you starting the game? It should go into VR mode when starting the game via the Steam overlay and then selecting "start Everspace in SteamVR mode".
If that doesn't help, could you post your system stats please?

Hey, I'm having the same problem, the game boots up in VR but once I hit 'Continue' on the main menu the Vive headset screen goes grey and I can't see anything. I'm starting the game by selecting the "start everspace in steamVR mode" just fyi

Specs are:

i5 9600K
16 GB Ram
RTX 2070
Win 10
Vive with Dualshock 4 Controller

Same problem happens when I disconnect the PS4 controller and try with mouse/keyboard. I haven't been able to play the game at all, would love any help

It's been a while, but I've played with mouse and keyboard when playing in VR.
suddenly if I want to play in vr mode any controller works. Only work reset position key. Also when I play normal mode, the mouse blink constanly and disappear if you dont move it

Edit: After some tests xD, Only I can spin the ship, awesome It's so annoying try to play and you "game" is fixing the issues with controllers.
