these symbols might be real symbols, but hard to memorize them all, no reason to memorize symbols, unless plan to become nato general, or watch war news

O = Armor/Tank
X = Infantry
O and X on top each other = Mechanized Infantry
I use NATO symbols because that's how it was back in HOI3. it was either NATO symbols or sprites and oh boy, were the symbols better.
I don't really get how it constitutes showing off though. It's a couple of symbols, pretty easy to learn especially if you've learnt how to play HOI4. Nothing to boast about.

For those of us with bad knees, the NATO symbols might be the easier option. It is for me.
