How to disable factions?

Hi, do any of you guys know what files should I modify to turn factions COMPLETLY OFF? I found a mod that removes starting factions, I mean Axis, Communists and Allies, but later on AI can create factions and this is what I want to block. It feels like easy work, but I just dont know how :). Thanx!

I dont think there is a permaban faction mod...

The AI really needs to cool it with their allies, they get way too involved. The AI is treating allies like puppets.

Actually I think I solved this myself. And as I thought it was easy. It's really fun to play some minor country and then just slowly take over the whole world without being concerned about the damn Allies guaranteeing everyone's independence :P

So... To get rid of factions I went into the HOI's main folder and then i searched it for the fraze "can_create_factions", just make sure you're also searching inside the files. There will be about a dozen of resolts. Just open every shown file and change can_create_factions= yes to no. And that's it, it worked for me. Cheers.

ohh and I forgot one more thing. When I started a new game there actually were Allies and Axis and Communists. So just type "tag usa" in the console to take over USA (and you know equally ger, sov for Germany and Bolsheviks) then just type "allowdiplo" and just disband a faction. They won't create new one.

Oh, that's great. It might be more fun to play that way for a change of pace. It's way too headaching when every game plays out the same. You try to do a minor expansion and the enemy joins a faction where they suddenly call in all their allies forcing you to do the same over and over again.

what are the folder names what the fraze is in?
Becasue i dont know how to search for a spesific fraze in folders in windows 8.

Well for me it were files located in:
Hearts of Iron IV\common\ideas
Hearts of Iron IV\events
Hearts of Iron IV\common\national_focus

I have win7 and I will stick with it as long as I can since any next win is just another money grab attempt... Anyway in win7 when you open any folder you can search for specific file in the top right corner. And after that if you want it to look inside the files for you just click "files content"? I guess its the right translation since I'm not using english version... It's on the bottom of the results, along with other searching options.

i'm sorry for commenting on such a old thread but how do you search a folder for a phrase? when i search can_create_factions it comes up with nothing

Even older response to an even older thread haha. Control+F when you're inside the file that you want to search in.

This could probably be considered grave robbing at this point, but this mod kinda helps achieve the faction limiting and removal.
