Where to stage coups?
I dont know where to stage coups:

is it better in urban areas or rural? I havent really seen a difference in manpower/provinces when I selected the most populated state compared to the most strategic location in the mountains.

With the way land gets distributed among allies upon invasion, I usually stage the coup on the opposite side of the country so I can gobble up the land I want ... but maybe splat in the middle would be more disruptive overall.

Thoughts? What has worked for you?

Well, it really depends on the country.

Doing it in land that is easy to defend usually works quite well (France with the maginot line, Italy with the alps ect.)

If not, then a good way to disrupt the enemy is to do it in either:

An isolated area with resouces/factories

Or somewhere where there is likely a low amount of troops (Let's the coup go wild)
Also in places you might want to pull away from enemies without actually going to war.

As an aside, please launch a coup in Australia, we're in the middle of a boring-ass election here.

What kind of coup we talking here? Communist? Fascist? Both?
Is Funk a political ideology yet? I'd be ok with a funky coup.

If thats the case, we definitely need an achievement for building the Ministry of Funk

True... so many variables.

What about India? I just started a game as Iran and would really love to expand East also. Where would you set the coup (fascist) in the British Raj?
Haha Parliament? Please post on here about your coup because I'd be curious to see how you go detaching the Raj from Britian.
