how can i take poland without starting ww2?

im playing germany and im trying to kill poland without starting ww2. so i justified a war goal in 1936. but a few days ( 1937 ) after i attack them they join the allies. i dont get it. why? and how? they are NOT guaranteed.
i was looking at some youtube vids and they do the exact same thing as me. yet it doesnt work for me.

The only downside of them joining the allies is having to station occupation troops in the area really

If you manage to keep the world tension low enough you could easily knock out france and the uk without the USA intervening (My tip for destroying the UK's fleet is building a metric ton of planes and bombing the ♥♥♥♥ out of their fleet in the channel, tip for beating france easily is letting them inside bavaria and BW without letting them take any cities, you can cut them off in the middle and kill the enricled troops, rinse and repeat until you can't fill your mass graves any longer)

Going for "SuperGermany"? That's weird it worked for me again just a few days ago. Did you have any mods on? I'm guessing the world tension went through the roof for some reason, you need to keep it under 25% at all costs.

I did it by not taking any national focus and saving 190 pp asap to justify on both Czecoslovakia and Poland at the same time: justifying on one, then the other, then cancelling the first and rejustifying immediately so both WG get finished at the same time and I can declare both simultaneously, thus preventing annoying guarantees

do not do the rhineland focus.
that will keep world tension low so they wont get guarantee

You can turn off historical AI. With historical AI, WW2 starts with Poland. Without they either make their own faction, which is the entire Belarus-Region for free, or on rare accounts they join a faction with Romania, which is an even better kill. Poland is only a free kill if a-historical, OR you do the strat where you access both Germany's fascist AND imperial tree. For that you have to justivy against Austia AND Poland as soon as possible. The Allies won't intervene, but you HAVE to kill them fast. Then you can Oppose Hitler, and while that, bypass Rhineland and Anschluss and et voilá. But you will have a civil war tho. It is easier if you have your units on boats when it fires. You will keep your army this way and Hitler only gets 24 divisions, which causes the AI to panic because of the massive frontline they have to cover. Do not forget to delete your fleet, unless you want to lose your army.

That is interesting information you have there. I will try that out today.

But let me remind you, you have nowhere a sign that you know the strats. One has to expect the other player to be a potato to evade misunderstandings and catastrophes. I just explained out of kindness.

Well, I never heard of that "double" Rhineland+oppose Hitler exploit, so I personnaly don't know :/ Maybe that's bad karma for trying to screw up the focus tree

The only way to do it is that you have to play ahistorical like the other said. But I think if you oppose Hitler you have 2 ways left: Going Democratic or going the Communist Style. So you go friendly with the Russians (Communist) or the Democratic States (France, Commonwealth, USA etc.).

And what way you go (Democratic or Communist) go political the same Way with Poland. So it could join you and the Main States of this one Way you go then.

But you will go into War anyway. Then it could be initiated by the last big Fashist States (Japan, Italy), the Balcan States (Rumania, Bulgaria etc.), big Democratic or big Communist States.

I haven´t tried it yet, because I like the historical style more and know exactly when the war get started .

I just did it a few days ago! If it doesn't work you probably did some other thing that messed it up. As long as you don't do other stuff to increase WT (sending volunteers for example), that you declare at the same time and that the war is done quickly (you need only a few months to capitulate Poland, Czecoslovakia and Romania), you'll be alright
EDIT: you don't need to do the Rhineland focus since being at war will bypass it. Just focus on your industry, you'll need it to fight 3v1 in 1937

Do you do the Rhineland focus? It might mess it up for some reason. You can just bypass it once at war

...Or, maybe... Do you happen to have a "German-compliant" version of the game? Maybe it's hardcoded in a way to say "Germany... no." when it comes to Poland :3

nah i have the international version. and no im not doing rhineland focus. i do opose hitler focus ( after im done with a war ) and then bypass rhineland to start the exploit. the problem is that i cant finish the war because poland joins the allies.

like, i would understand if this was programmed in the game by the devs, so germany cant become too OP in just 1 year. but this isnt case, since i seem to be the only one where this doesnt work. this makes me mad.

Maybe you saw earlier game versions in vids, and the devs changed it in one update. I'm wondering too now that I read this thread...

i know. world tension is 15% and 21% when i declare on poland. as i said, it works for every other country. poland is the only one that instantly joins the allies after about 2 or 3 days.

i dont understand it myself. im trying to think of a mod that could break this but i dont think i have anything like that. i dont have a mod that changes focus trees except for senor hilter, which is in argentina and not europe / poland. so... this makes no sense.

which basicly means that you are using mods, and you dont know for sure....
try to do it without mods, and see if you can do it...which im pretty sure you can, since i took poland and lithuania in 37 earlier today...so it has to be something on your end...

Ignore everything above this.
You can start a war with any "allied minors" (Denmark, Netherlands, Belgium...) If the World Threat is below 25%. Keep in mind that when you declare war, the World Threat increases, so take it on account before declaring. But usually I start the game and as soon as I have the enough Political Power to justify war against Poland, I do it... and the allies never declared war on me.

Another thing you should pay atention is the Spanish Civil war, usually when its happening the world threat is higher, and lower when its finished.
