Garrison Armies
So with the new limit on generals and field marshals i can no longer have more than 72 divisions in one army used only for garrison...

Should I create multiple garrison armies to meet the optimal amount of garrison divisions for the territories I own, or should I just ignore the division limit and assign everything to one general?

Thanks

Depend on why you have garrison there at first palce.

If jsut for keep resistance down you can safely ignore the limit (like cav+MP is not able fight anything anyway( - I usualy dont even bother train garrisons over mandatory 20%.

Completely different case if you use garrison for eg shore protection, than you want them be in perfect combat shape, including commander bonus..

Yes i need garrison to guard basically everything, it even says that min. amount of divisions for the area i currently have under one garrison army is 108 but can only have 72 under one general..
I think i will make another garrison army for a different role
Thanks

At the very least, I separate garrison generals by water. I don't want him to shuffle units around and send them in trasports across the ocean. If I take England as Germany, then England gets its own general. Same thing with Africa if I don't have a land connection there. And I babysit them when I send them across the water.

Otherwise, Medvidek is wise and has the correct plan. :)

Yes, that´t the best way you can do. Use sperate Generals for suppression / garission units. And use one Field Marschall to upgrade the potential of the Generals and Suppression / Garission Units. Max 5 Generals can be given to a Field Marshall but the Effect is great.

I see that in the China War / Spanish Civil War by helping the Nationalists in fighting the Enemy (I play Germany and help Japan, Mandschuko, ???? as well as nationalist Spain). The heavy upgraded AI uses this effects too, so the player should use it too.

Yes thats true, but im not sure if I should create a seperate army group only with garrison armies or should I add garrison armies to seperate army groups that already have some frontline armies

Just different garrison armies with own leaders and choose different garrison targets (like protect shore, victory points only for army with combat troops and keep resitance for horse army)

What I mean is follwoing:

- 2 Infantry Army (both with 24 Devisions) to secure the Coasts [f. e. North France, Benelux, North Germany, Denmark and Norway]

- 2 better 3 Kavellerie Armys (all with 24 Devisions) to hold of seperatists in occoupied countrys [f. e. at the Beginning 1939 / 1940: 1 Army in Poland, 1 Army in France / Benelux and 1 Army in Norway]

All Armys with a seperate General. All 5 Generals are under a Fieldmarshall to upgrade the Effects of the Armys and the Generals.

With that I had my best Expierience to hold of enemy coast Landings and disturbances from sepersatists in occopied countrys.
