Noob to the game. My army is not attacking

Hi,

I bought the game a while back. I'm trying to do the tutorial. I followed the orders in the tutorial and it is trying to make my guys attack the etheopian capital. But all they do is sit there. 14 strength. Never advance. I sat there for months...

I sent them out to attack the little armies of 1 or 2 strength around me manually. While I attack one, their divisions go and take all my territory. They attack x10 as fast. My front lines are never maintained. My guys never attack following the army offensive order... And I lost my 14 strength division army against their 1 or 2 strength army while they took all the territory.

I feel like I'm missing something.

I also have air superiority + cap missions going. But I still lose...

What did I miss? The next tutorial object is to take their capital after setting the army advancing line and front line which I did... But all my guys grouped up on a single area and did nothing.

Just a thought. Did you "Execute" the attack. You can do this on the bottom row after setting up a plan. Just click the "play" arrow over the general?

What do you mean by 14 strength? You mentioned that your guys are all grouped up in one place so I'm going to assume that you have one stack of 14 divisions. Because of combat width you won't be able to attack with all 14 divisions in a stack like that so most of them will just stand there doing nothing. You need to draw a longer front line probably so that your divisions spread out more.

I did execute the attack. It was doing the green move across the screen animation which indicated it was executing. I also clicked it a few different times just to make sure.

Also yes, it was 14 divisions in a stack. At first the units were spread across the front line, but when I executed the attack, they all moved into a single stack of 14... Then sat there and did nothing. I didn't move them to the same spot, the battle plan did that for me.

did you draw an offensive line ? They cant execute a non existent order

Hi guys. I went back to load my game and noticed I didn't have a save.

I started up the tutorial again and did the same thing as the first time around and everything seemed to work this time. :/

I don't know what the deal was or if the game got bugged (it did crash at some point which might be the reason why I didn't have a save and why it wasn't working)...

At this point, I was able to finish the tutorial. Thank you all for your comments and trying. But ultimately it did end up working in the new game.
