Jump drives for capitol ships?
Noticed something new to the 4.00 update a while back, but didn't really think about it further. I noticed that certain ships, when close to a jump-gate seem to appear and disappear via big electrical looking effects when near the gates.

Now, I just witnessed one of my own ships doing this when near a gate. This a new feature I don't know about, or is this just here to smooth out AI pathfinding?

I think it's just to help with pathfinding. When I hitched a ride on one of my L freighters it did this and just appeared near the gate on the other side.

But, it's worth noting that it didn't do it at every gate, just a few of them

I really liked the jumpdrives in Rebirth. The further you jump, the more fuel you use so you need a supply setup if you're going into enemy territory. You can also drop a nav beacon and your ships can warp to that instead of a gate.

The downside was you had to go sector by sector to warp long distances. I would remove that and just make the fuel use the penalty for going further.

Yes -> Research all 4 Teleport Techs and you will unlock it :)

Also Liked Jumpdrives In the Old X Parts

Honestly i dont get it why some people are so against it .its usefull in Rly slow ass capital ships and opens new possibilities in the game .

I rly would like to have one in a Carrier.It would make them Usefull in the game:steamfacepalm:

There are Jumpdrive Mod´s out there but the are hopelessly outdatet with the current version of X4.

The idea of them using a jump beacon isnt so bad .Also its costs more energy cells based on the ship size and Jump distance and must be Researched .

It should be in the game .

also written here: We can move our entire HQ around in the game but not our ships ? Oh common.....

Jump drives would be at least more lore friendly.

Yeah, I mean that's really the main use of a carrier. Gathering up a bunch of little fighters that can't jump themselves and insta-warping across distance.
