I found earler in my game when I was a young "gun" that its best to use mk2 bolt guns on a quaser which is available at Argon Prime, an from experiance, to also never engage more then one at a time, If you stay in one spot.. it will charge you head on...

Simply, train all your guns on it (4 or 6), and its instanct death for one.

M or N class type.

Do not try on a P or above.

Practice makes perfect.

My rank is Colonel.

A good location is Hatikvah's coice near the xenon jumpgate, sometimes xenon sends a small group of fighters, which is perfect for newbies.

Agreed, this is a good choice.

In my current save there is a pretty heavily armed Argon station right by that gate which helps deal with any K's coming through. There is also often an Argon fleet there too which can help if you want to get stuck in solo early game, although you have to be careful getting into a joint firefight with them 'cos friendly fire is sometimes hard to avoid.

Incidentally, just is case you don't already know, if you do trigger a friendly fire incident like that, it's no big deal so long as you don't actually kill one of them. They only go hostile for a short while (couple of minutes maybe a little more) then all is forgiven. Also only the ally ships in the fleet concerned (or possibly also nearby, i.e. witnesses) go hostile. No rep with the faction is lost. It's more of a "bugger off" than a "your arse is mine" type thing. So long as you don't waste one of them. If you do kill one it's different. They still forgive you eventually but you will lose a couple of points or so of rep permanently. If you're in there with a big fleet of fighters this can be difficult to avoid since your fighters will typically gank enemies in groups so they may well kill a temporarily hostile ally before you can order them to cease fire and withdraw.

If this happens when you have a fleet in play my advice is to immediately hit pause and issue a set of orders to get your fleet to disengage and GTFO whilst paused to minimise the risk of a major incident. Once withdrawn just wait a few minutes on the side lines for the Argon to go green or blue again and then get back stuck in.

The sector the player HQ is in usually has one or two M's or N's flying about south of the station.

Assuming you have a few ships backing you up, the reach is a good place if you are flying around the outskirts.

Hativah's choice I has like 4 or 5 large ships that I can't even begin to touch in my Eclipse Vanguard and they kill me pretty

If you get in range of them, for sure. But you don't have to go anywhere near them and they're a lot slower than you are and they're pretty short ranged. More than 5km or so from them you're safe.

Why Quaser and not Elite Vanguard? I picked the Elite becuase it seems to be better due to mor armor?
Sabaithal Jul 13, 2020 @ 11:15am
The elite vanguard only has one weapon mount. The quasar has four. That's why.

I have the name confused then. I have the other ship in Argon prime that has 4 wepaons just like the Quaser but more hull armor.

Eclipse, not elite. I confused those two as well at first.

So any reason to go Quasar over Eclipse?

They're cheaper. Might be faster/maneuverable, don't remember (I use VRO).

An Eclipse is pretty much better then a Quasar.
Though weapon positioning would be a reason to use the Quasar over the Eclipse.
It weapons are more center position

The Pulsar Vanguard has 6 gun ports, with the mk2 bolts on all of them, You have available 1900 hull space, and for shields...1552.

This is plenty if you are sitting still faceing the N or M xenon ship when he turns and charges you ..face to face...he will be destroyed if he doesn't move, and if he does, just tail him and wait till your shields recover....fighting ship to ship is better if you make your plan an then plan your moves.

You can buy these ships at the Argon Wharf in Argon Prime. they cost around a mil or so but its worth it to use an fight...do not fight more then two at a time as they will cross fire you (box you in) and destroy you.

Speed is 395 with the right engines.
I would never use less then this ship to fight a N or a M
Eclipse is a pirate piece of junk, use an see how quick you will die...remember the old pirate that use it? He bailed for good reason.

Eclipse Vanguard can only have 4 port guns MK2 if you have those available, Hull is 4000 and shields are 3104 (all upgraded on mine) SPEED is 305.

With good 3 or 4 star pilots, they can both do some serious damage, personally I prefer more gun power an speed when fighting, shields are both weak considering other ships I have that could take more punishment when in a dogfight.

Most all my pilots are 3, 4 or pegging on the 5 star. They are experianced and know how to handle themselves.

Use whatever you feel is necessary, this is my advice.

Now if I could just find the weak spot on that Xenon I ship...another story another time.

Good luck.
