How do you cancel a builder that you had assigned
Having a problem finding builders so I decided to fire one and rehire. But can't seem to cancel an assigned builder once assigned.

Once hired it's a pact of blood, the dishonor would be to great and start a war. The only way is to remove any additions so the job appears done, you can save them first and reload after it leaves and any transports to build storage will still continue during this process, new reservations won't be able to happen till you reload and confirm the changes however.

Well on that note warcrime you could also blow up said builder. Its too bad you cant board it with marines and take it over and scrap it for parts ;p

You can board it, although I boarded as it nearly finished the component, so it would finish before my troops completed. Didn't want to capture mid build just in case it caused a problem.

There is a way, but its kinda a workaround.

Go into the blueprint it is building, save what you have there to load later (if you want), then delete everything in the blueprint that is not built. The builder will begin its "completing construction" phase because there is nothing left for it to build there.

Boarding would be interesting to try, one of two things will happen, it will either complete as expected or boarding will be put on hold till it finish building. My guess is phase one is doable especially with very strong settings and possibly with less but subsequent phase will be put on hold till it finishes build.

You see this too if you board a ship that then goes in to dock and execute a trade. The first phase will complete but subsequent phases are put on hold while it docks, trades, undocks and then complete afterwards. Deploy to Station however is different from those three specific commands... worth a try.

I did the old drop the troops on the builder without damaging the hull. It takes ages for them to cut through the hull without help, the builder continued building, and a few minutes later the build finished, I could then either wait for the marines, or assist weakening the hull.
Would like to see cancel builder, even if he finished the current component.
Would also like to see being able to load plans on part finished stations.
Eg build 2 identical stations. Add 1/2 dozen parts to the first, save plan, load on second without deleting current parts.

Might be able to do this if you don't move the stations but keep them in the same position you saved them in. Any changes in position will cause deconstruction.

I usually want to adjust positions so I load the station, adjust it, then save it again. I then remove modules like all Defense and just have the docks built first. Then load the save which adds the Defense modules back without deconstructing the docks since there are no changes to them, they're in the same position.

We just need a simple button to "cancel current builder". If that is too much of a technical hurdle because of issue of leaving a partially constructed module, then at least a "cancel after current module" button.

While we are on the subject of building, a way to rearrange the build order of planned modules, without dragging the modules around on the screen to place them at the end of the build order, would be such a big improvement, especially when we are planning very large station complexes.
