What is the point of an administrative Centre?
What is it used for?

So you place it if you want to claim a sector?

Pretty much

Admin center in a plot makes a defense platform. The faction with the most defense platforms in a sector has control. But if more than one faction have at least 1 in a sector, it will still be in control by the one with the most, but its status will be contested.

I dont know if it was like that before but its not like that right now.
I just took over guiding star and needed to destroy the 2 defense plattforms and the wharf even with 2 SPL Palttforms in place.

Maybe the wharf had an admin center, maybe they count. I haven't taken over a sector with a wharf or shipyard already there, but it works the way I describe so far for me and the npcs in my game.

From what I read the faction that already had an admin center first retains control until all of theirs are destroyed.

Post I made yesterday to someone else on the same topic...

Current Function 3.10:
Having an Admin Center causes the system to be "Contested" but doesn't actually make factions mad at you. If at any time the current owner loses all their current Admin, Trade, Shipyard, Equipment, & Wharf stations (since all of those have admin or count) ownership of the system will shift to the Faction (or player) with an Admin... This occurs in the order they are built if there are multiple.

----
The multiple Admin wins mechanic & the auto war mechanics were from previous versions. They were dropped because both were causing too many issues.

----
You can "peacfully" steal a sector if you use Spacesuite Bombs on an admin center. You can technically destroy the module for only a -1 Reputation Hit triggering the sector to shift if there isn't a backup in the sector for that faction.

I have seen posts that this costs 30 bombs... but from my experience in 3.10 against a Teladi Admin it takes me about 120 of them to completely destroy the Admin Center.

Exactly...
who comes first with a station owns it, no matter who did the work to clear a sector.

So the only question left is: Whats the point of owning a sector ;)
If you are at war, you can build wherever you want and if you are at peace the prices for a building lot are cheap.
They could give all the sectors to Xenon as owners, it wouldnt change a thing for the gameplay.

the point is not having to pay for the territory you build on, if you build 10x10x10 factory it will cost tens of million if the faction own it, hundred if you are close to a busy place.

also you can destroy ennemy you want without caring about what are there allies so you pretty much can use the sector your own to do piracy on faction you have bad rep with without loosing rep from their allies.

you can also destroy freely venture ships without rep lost if that your thing.

and that pretty much it. it would be nice if faction would pay to construct in your owned sector.. but that not the case...

also that might make foe faction try to capture your sector. but the thing that you don't need to pay for stuff (the territory) you build on is enough. its tens of millions credit its not nothing at the begin...

You missed one...
You can also set what wares are illegal in your territory & assign ships to police patrol. I have seen some people who have used this as a way to corner the market in an area... Make Food Rations or something Illegal, forcing all NPC traders to drop their goods, than sell them yourself :P

Personally I do it to reduce traffic through the system. I get annoyed with NPC Police ships stopping my transports all the time for inspections... The downside is i have to defend my own space from the Xenon. But with the defence stations i build around the entry gates nothing larger than an N can generally slip past lol
