Stations not defending
So i built a factory complex in "Hewas Twin I" next to a big Teladi Trading Station.
The Sector now is overrun by xenon.
I built lots of disc and bridge defense platforms with Tel L Beams but they wont fire.
When im OOS the station doesent even launch defense drones.
So i teleport onto the station, the drones are launched but the turrets wont fire.
I did set the station to attack all hostiles etc. even tried different settings, nothing...
The xenon K and I's are very close to the station so range cant be the issue, too.
It seems like the trading station close by doesent defend, either.
Any ideas?

BTW. also tried updating to 3.2 beta with same results.

Is the station fully built? And did you buy the Blueprints for the weapons you want to equip? Its best to just look for the Set Station to Highest Preset and not mess with the station from my experience as a beginner, Though every thing is situational and may want to learn and set for a Custom Preset and save it. And Manager ability does matter for station functions but i would think 2 star would shoot at something. Also to consider the ranges, so they are not too far away to fire.

But i would check Build Plan make sure the station is complete and you have the Blueprints.

Are there actually weapons on the defense platforms? Made that mistake too. You have to get the blueprints for those weapons as well.

Once you do, go into the build plan for the station, right click on the defense module, and there should be an option to edit its loadout. You can place turrets and shielding there. Just bear in mind, most are M and L sized turrets.

They cost resources to build as well, obviously. Though if the station is already fully built, I don't think they require a constructor to build the new turrets/shields. Just be sure to allocate funds to build storage costs, or get the required materials yourself. After that...well, they just seem to build themselves after a certain amount of time. I'm not sure what exactly happens.

I think you cannot select weapons you dont have the blueprints for in the loadout screen.
So yes... i did get the specific beam blueprints beforehand and edited the loadouts for each and every module.
Afaik the Station is fully built.
At least there is no estimate for build costs/parts missing etc.
The only thing i noticed i seem to have forgot to buy the shield blueprints. But the modules should work without shields, too. Shouldnt they?

Is there a manager? Are you sure it actually has turrets built? Have you checked the loadout to see if the turrets are armed?

Stations don't have shields the only thing that have shields are their turret if you decide to shield them after all.

I have a 4 star manager assigned to the station and i can see the actual visual representation of the turret in the loadout screen. Does station defense for you guys both work OOS and in Sector?

Ok now i checked the modules by flying near them with my ship... Out of about 20-30 modules only one has the turrets built.
However they all look the same in the loadout screen of the "plan build" menu. Also there is nothing in the build queue. I just dont know how to force the others to be build.
That one module will fire (seldomly) when im in sector closely watching it.
OOS the station will not defend at all.
What a buggy mess...

To ensure that turrets are built, they need certain components which are listed under the 'plan build' (if memory serves me right)

If they are not being built (they build really fast and I do not think you need a builder attached to the station) then you are lacking those materials, so supplying what is needed to the station inventory will help.

I am not 100% if you need to supply it to the build or station inventory since I've admittedly always let the traders do it at their own pace, can not recall the last time I had a station attacked.

Same deal with drones, they require certain parts in the station inventory before being created on-site.

Depending on turret type, you'll also need missile-parts before they function.

So now in "plan build" i played around with the "station wide module loadout" switch, set it to medium, then back to high.
Now it seems turrets are being build.
They work when im in sector, however still no "Out Of Sector" defence.

I see you've discovered the turrets weren't actually built. It's a bit finicky, but if you check the Trade with Build Storage display, you can see there should be pending parts, probably Turret Components. You'll need to supply those. I'm not 100% sure if you actually need a builder assigned for the turrets, but it wouldn't hurt.

Also, I wouldn't use beams. Short range, low damage, and the hitscan is only really valuable in-sector. I have my killbox stations set up with Argon discs with all large slots as plasma, and all other slots as pulse. They hold their own effectively.

There were no pending parts in build storage before.
I customized all the turrets when i build the station.
Only when i switched around the global loadout they were built and now im stuck with beams all around (since high loadout preset equals beams).
The whole OOS thing is different though. When i teleport away from the sector all the defence drones will instantly fly back to the station and it will just sit there getting shot to pieces.
When i teleport back, the drones will launch and the turrets shoot.
I currently have 6 or 7 Xenon Ks and 2 Xenon I sitting in "Hewas Twin I" destroying both the big Teladi Trading Station and my big Complex since both wont defend one bit.
I even tried to get some Destroyers to protect the station.
As soon as i teleport away, they start to spin really fast on the map like little cog wheels and get shot up as well.
Its hilarious, really.

So... now they destroyed the station. Im trying to rebuild it since i saved the building plan.
When i click "plan build" on the destroyed station the building grid will not appear so i cant build anything.
I feel like im running into every bug this game currently has to offer.
