Find a casual Free Company/Link Shell. Free Company is like Guild, whereas Link Shell is like Private Chat Channel.
I'm gonna cut my losses with this one, TESO was less single player-like then this >.>
Whats the point of an MMO if evryone is going around like a complete mute, such a shame game seemed awesome...
The community is the worst part of this game sadly
btw the whole ''pay sub and spend time talking to random people'' is a silly remark considering its a MMOrpg if you prefer to play in silence instead of with others and work together perhaps help new players in need then no mmorpg is your cup of tee [exept TESO]
To all the other responces thanks for your ideas/tips ive always just happened to run into folk and ended up joining them for years, so this was really wierd must be massive lack of keyboard or smthin with allot of folk.
I had the same problem, FFXIV was created in a way to "protect" your personal progression even since the version 1.0, where they try to pop enemies for "your eyes only", saying that I can appreciate SquareEnix intentions, furthermore I think as in real life, Overprotection is a bad thing, it insolate your intaractions, you don't experience the need for others and then as result you have a world of mutes -as you very well call them- I my opinion here is an oportunity of grow for the developers of MMOs, Yes, I applaude this game that lets you proggress in many ways i.e.- you can be in a queue for a dungeon and be doing so many things while waitting alone, but then you enter an area with other 3 randomly players thinking that will exist interaction at least to figure out the strategy to be take in the dungeon, but no, Square Enix as an overprotective parent takes you from the hand and with minimal interaction all 4 player do their jobs, consequently in some way victorious, just to get a tumbs up for your job at the end or not.
After all that said, I found my self enjoying the game once you make friends but that can take time, and that is where SE fail, that starting time where you feel so lonely and at the same time not needing ppl to do what is require to proggress, I rememnber games like WOW or FFXI where after a few levels you need of yours peers to help and you to help, you feel like a champ helping because you know what is to be in that other person shoes, so at WOW and FFXI you feel part of a community created by an universal need, goal. we can not said the same in FFXIV where you start needing ppl only for the endgame.
So I think this game as a new kind of MMO, is like a Single Player game where you can have friends around to chill out, -I wish Skyrim was like this, I always wanted ppl around me to look what I have done or kill a dragon, but not mess around my bubble world- well i am off point with that statment.
It will get better ones you find ppl to play with, like the FC you have after the Russian one. Good luck on your adventures. If you ever see a Don Gato /wave most like it I will not be muted xD.
It's not my fault if you can't hold aggro, ♥♥♥♥♥. It's not my job to not hold aggro.
It's a MMO after all, you will be partying with 'lesser' people sooner or later.
No, you'd be fine. Provided your account has time on it, you'll be able to play on any PC. If you wish to play on the PS4 or PS3, you will need to buy a copy of that version.
Don't know what you're talking about. I'm on JP servers, people talking all the time in Duty Finder (in JP of course, thanks google translator) and they even make attempt to communicate with dirty gaijins like me in English. Unless you join Party Finder that clearly said JP onry and get kicked for obviously not being JP. There is a WHOLE LOT of interaction between the jobs, and later content is usually insta wipe if one out of eight mess up something.
Actually yeah it is... If the Tank can't stay at the top of the agro list, you need to hold back a little so he can maintain agro... It's called working as a team!
I'm on Mana data center (JP) and I have seen both sides of the coin in dungeons(DF), people talking a lot even if nobody is listening, and people that won't say a word, only "よろしくお願いします" and "お疲れさまでした".
While it's true that one player that fails leads to a wipe, for my experience I know that japanese players expect you to already know the mechanics of the ID you are doing, unless you say you are new to the dungeon (初見), so if there is no need for interaction, they won't speak a lot.
