Hildibrand is the only questline I don't regret reading through. I suppose it doesn't help that there is very little sense of uniqueness in an mmo.
btw it's easy to solo tank those last two dungeons. I've solo healed them as well.
and you can watch every cutscene from the inn room.
You'd like to think that, but no.. some you cannot.
I've never been one to race to the end content because I know I'll be at the end game soon enough and will be spending most of my time there anyway. So there's no rush - I enjoy the journey. However, I often get bored with fetch quests and storylines that are just plain a waste of space. So I typically go through the quests the first time and then when I level any alts (in this case new Classes and Jobs), I skip the quests (or at least the quest text) I've already done (unless it's one with a good reward or one I particularly enjoyed).
Quests from 15-20 were most interesting from 15-27, a lot of the quests are now "go talk to this person 3 metres away from me" for whatever reason, and the entire Primal was skipped over in the forest area with the little green creatures, could have been interesting, but they decided against it. I'm mixed on the quests, but I'll continue reading them because as you said, I'm going to reach endgame eventually and I'd spend most of my time there. Just hoping they get better.
You're talking about Ramuh, the sylph's primal. His fight was released in a patch and you'll do it after you hit 50. The pre-50 story has its slow moments, but there's some really good stuff in there. Once you hit 50 though it gets even better. Each new major patch brings more story content along with it as well as new dungeons that tie with the story like Leviathan, Ramuh, Ultima Weapon, etc. Most of the dungeons in XIV are tied to the main story, or if not the main story than a sidequest.
Still, too many filler quests simply had you running across the map to speak to some NPC only to send you right back. Honestly, I found the random NPC banter and dialog to be more enjoyable.
Well, at least there's some good news. I expect endgame to be decently fun regardless, so it still would have been if the fight had been after the dungeon you had to run, seeing as by that point I felt as if I was going to fall asleep on the spot. I don't know what's up Yoshida thinking it was a good idea to lead everyone on a wild goose chase to find a masked man, and then end up doing a bunch of absolutely useless things, it's just more and more filler. :/
I'm pretty sure you can see them all.
Name one you cannot rewatch at the inn.
Kinda makes you feels like an actually adventurer doing odds and end to stuff. The exp isnt even that great, you might as well enjoy the writing.
Gonna have to disagree with Ace though, my character was total badass at the climax and it felt very fulfilling. I havent made much progress past this point since I focused on extra stuff but I don't think the Garleans are finished.

It should also be noted that you only see the some of major cinematic cutcences. You can't view the talk before the fight with Giaus among other things. I recommend taking your FC and finishing that era properly for full impact.
Dope, Freyar already mentioned it..well Im not erasing it now.
A few key scenes in CM and Praetorium.
Tam-Tara HM's Unlock Quest is also limited in re-watchability.
Not sure if serious....
Yep, I expect to be slaying godlike creatures, beasts, giant mechanincal beasts, or just some badass people rather than collecting ingredients to make some form of beer to secure someone's friendship.
Not true. I'm able to review both. You just need to find the right tab it's in.
I can see Tam-Tara HM's opening scene, however I cannot see the END of the questline.
