side dishes are automatically taken by clients waiting the normal order.
Hmmm, I dont understand. I've never been asked to make any. I've never seen any get sold. I'm contantly throwing them away when I make them.
Nobody has ever asked for any side dish, be it chili, french fires, onion rings, etc.
I'm very confused.
You will see the number of portions in the holding station diminishing as clients waiting.
Edit: Also, some dishes are available as optional holding station foods, such as chicken strips or nuggets. You can either prep them beforehand in a holding station, or cook it when the customer orders it.
You are making a lot of posts about basic gameplay mechanics that are explained in the tutorial, or can be answered just by looking around the game menus and paying attention, or have previous threads in the forum for people who also didn't find it clear (though I understand posting about what sounded like a glitchy designer).
I've never seen it explained either.
I'm really sure it gets explained in the tutorial.
That's where I learned how it worked anyway.
The tutorials are optional though, so not something someone skipping the tutorial would learn.
Axiom's explanation is not quite correct. Customers do not order side dishes while waiting; they order side dishes after receiving a perfect order. So, if a customer orders a salad and you make it perfectly, then the customer will also take (and pay for) a side dish if one is available in the holding station.
The game does not prompt you to make side dishes. It's up to you whether to make them or not. :)
Just as an added note of clarification, though, having sides ready and waiting in the holding stations does increase the amount of time a customer is willing to wait for their entree to be prepared.
Side note: Only one of the same kind of side dish will improve your customer's patience. So having two of the same type of side dish prepped (I.E; two sets of brussel sprouts) will not further improve your patience.
As far as I can tell, having drink maintenance tasks waiting doesn't actually stop you from getting Delicious orders, though.
