Fallout 4
How did Vault Tec plan on turning a profit from Vaults?
I mean... the social experiments just seems so far fetched and long termed (spanning centuries, assuming nothing went wrong). Besides the 10% or so dedicated to protecting the elite from the nuclear devastation, I just don't see much practical purpose for the other vaults.

I'm not sure it is. Oh, the main strokes of the plot I think are, but Harold clones, talking Deathclaws and other silliness, not so much. I recall reading that Bethesda are picking and choosing what to canonise from Tactics, though that may just have been someone spouting opinion as fact.
Talking Deathclaws are canon, just play Fallout 2. Clones are also canon, just play Fallout 3.

Yes, I know. But Harold is Harold. He is not Human, he is not a Ghoul, he is not a Super Mutant. Harold is Harold.

The talking Deathclaws are canon, true, but the only surviving ones as the end of F2 were Goris and... Another one. Interplay and MCA didn't like the idea of them in retrospect and wnted them to die out - Much like Wanamingo's stopped being Aliens, and became some random mutated beastie.

MCA? Anyway, Black Isle made Fallout 2, not Interplay. Still, it'd be possible for Goris and Xern or something was the other one's name, I think, to have breeded with some non-intelligent ones, since the intelligence gene is specific to the male deathclaws.

As for Wannamingos, they were never aliens, they were just refered to as that because people thought they were alien because of their unique appearence.

Talkign Deathclaws were in F2. They're completely canon (as a separate, tinkered-with strain of the species).

MCA - Mister Chris Avellone, lead producer or somesuch on F2. And Black Isle was just the name of Interplay's inhouse RPG studio. It never existed as a seperate entity in any form. Much like Bethesda is, was and always has been part of Zenimax Media.

I'm aware Black Isle is owned by Interplay, but Interplay itself didn't get involved in the production of 2.

And actually, Bethesda was once independent, but they got into financial trouble, and Zenimax bought them out.

They didn't - after the war. But they probably had a sweet money stream beforehand. It makes sense if they used this money to make a vault for themselves.

But the 'experiments' thing is idiotic.

This is just part of Bethesda's Fallout canon derp and (IMO) should mostly be ignored.
the expariments did not come from bethesda. they came from the original creators. Remember the city of ghouls in fallout 1? that was because of a Vault Tec Expariment.

Actually, they came from Fallout 2. In Fallout 1, the door not opening completley either wasn't explained so it was assumed to be a malfuntion.

Yeah, in FO1, it was assumed to be a malfuction, but FO2 retconned it into being intentional.

Actually, the team that made Fallout 1 was different then that which made Fallout 2, though a few people were the same. There are plenty of differences in the general tones of the two games. Fallout 2 is alot sillier then 1.

Thats like saying I didn't type this post, my fingers typed this. Interplay created Black Isle, it was even I think based out of the same offices - It was just a name for a part of the whole.

Apparently not. At least not exactly. Bethesda was formed by Christopher Weaver in 1986, he then went on to form Zenimax Media in 1999 (With a lawyer who's married to Wonder Woman, Lynda Carter).

If i had to guess based on what I've read in the lore, The G.E.C.KS (well most of them the lore contradicts itself on their true functions) were little more than agricultural starter kits with instructions on how to dissasemble parts of the vault to form a surface settlement. The one in vault 87 was some kind of magic teraforming device but the rest were less dramatic. Besides the inhabbitants couldn't know they were part of an experiment and therefore had to belive there only purpose was to recolonise the earth, hence why the G.E.C.KS were needed.

Explain vault city
Vault 8 was one of the Control Vaults, intended to open after twenty years. Of course they had to have a real GECK ... because when the time to open was close, the adults in teh vault would still be pre-War survivors, and would be able to recognise if the GECK was completely fake.

Reverend Belial eredeti hozzászólása:
The GECKs were assigned randomly, there was no real plan for who got what (Vault City actually got 3 of them).
Vault 8 got so many, due to a shipping error. They also got hundreds of Water Chips (most of which were supposed to have gone to Vault 13 - along with one of those GECKs).
This
In fallout 3 in the enclave base they have a large amount of deathclaws and a friendly deathclaw in a cage is it possible the enclave were doing tests on intelligent deathclaws ?
