Cait or Piper?

Which one should I romance with?

Piper is soft and smart.
Cait is wild, uneducated but realistic.

I like them both in some ways, but Cait has a different appeal, looks though but she is not.. Piper talks too much and i don't like helping-people-allthetime attitudes..

Or should I go for polygamy.. well, not bad for evolutionary approach :d

Romance isn't related to getting the perks anyway, since you get those for reaching maximum affinity even if you don't go for romance, or if the companion doesn't allow romance.

It's interesting why a player with over 3000 hours is asking such questions...
I'd choose(and actually did) Cait because...well because I don't like reporters and people who dislike stealing pixelated 3D models(that will never be used by NPCs anyway) and picking pixelated locks

Piper to me is the family girl and you can help Cait clean up her act a little and make her family material. If I recall, Piper doesn't care if you use meds, saying it's not her "cup of tea". Cait (after you clean her up that is) will dislike it, calling you a hypocrite. Piper is stable mother of the year after already being stable, kinda smart, and having experience with raising her sis. A real family would be entirely new to Cait and she'd have a big learning curve.

I never romanced her but Curie is probably number one mama behind Mama Murphy (jk) since she's the smartest but most naive. Piper isn't actually naive, she's an optimistic realist who is curious by nature. She called out the Mayor and the men who killed her father so she's not naive. Cait, when you first meet her is a pessimist and this can lead to giving up. In cut content you can fight cait in the cage where she expresses a will to die. This outlook complicates her getting close to you because she thinks that she owes you and that no one is inherently nice when you could actually be that nice. Piper noticed right away so i rest my case that Piper is the family pick between these two but that doesn't mean i don't love both of them lol I just do it when the other is at a settlement of my choosing while i travel with the other making love in the rain lol

I like Curie myself but I've had problems with her turning hostile in previous play throughs after I become enemies with the Institute. If she's with me as a companion and we go defend a settlement that's being attacked by synths, as soon as I kill one, I get an immediate "Curie hated that" dialogue, and she becomes hostile.

For that reason, I never take her as a companion after pissing off the Institute but yes, I still like her and her adorable innocence. It's pretty sexy :)

I agree with your everything in this post.
Piper would make great wife, mother and community (her caring and let everyone what is go on in the community even some might not like truth what is going on, she won't stuck her head underground and willing to face hard truth realist.

Cait is great free spirit and adventure, but high likely are not great mother, but don't know she is type women stay loyal and faithful wife due drug all that. I know many women on drug isn't kind of type stay faithful lover, she may great help or harm community, depend if she like to be raider and do drug similar gage from nuke world dlc but gage is much worse, he love it to do drug and kill, great harm to community, while cait mess up and could kind of a repentance. But Cait is more free spirit and adventure (even to point of death) than Piper do (Piper do adventure but avoid death while reasonable yet may little nosy into someone, but not that far, I'm sure piper know when to stop unless it's life and death situation and had to know about and tell everyone about it.)

Curie is type of program of robot, later on become synth that based on player's son in the game, dna. I wouldn't romance with curie even she may cool to hang out and great personal as long there is no hacker change her code or error code.
Curie could be anything, loving, sweet to crazy murder depend on code or someone hack her. I don't know. I would not recommand romance her, just friendzone yet keep eye on her if code or hacker mess up her system or something like that. Of course it's not happen in game, but could happen since she is based of robot/upgrade to synth.

Depend on guy's wish, if guy wish family and help community network, Piper is best,
If guy wish to be free, wanderer and adventure, and not doing drug due her quest, then cait.

If guy who lonely and great at craft and program robot, who don't mind touch skin of based dna from player's son in the game, curie, I guess. Come to think of it, that is creepy and nasty, based what game lore show me since all Synth (it's no matter male/female) is based of Son' DNA, that why he called Father, I guess, and player is grandfather or grandmother from DNA on Synth.

For Guy, safe pick is piper or cait and that is up to and depend on guy's personal taste.

Since player is out of time in this game, but player's child is only shaun and all synth, I guess. Shaun seem don't had any real children or wife, He seem single old man and passed away, so I guess it's safe to said piper and Cait isn't from your family line, player is kind of very ancient guy due out of time while Piper and Cait is just future next generation but not creepy at all, since player'a age is freeze during ice and pass to 200 year later, as long player's child don't make any more children, because that would be mess up, LOL, but synth don't count and can't making babies, only from factory.

I don't think Shaun had any real children at all, but hopeful Shaun had good life before he passed away but maybe not, he might brainwash and do full time do science all the time and wonder where or who are his mother or father till he is old and finaly got power to look into file and free them from vault 111 or what left while not had time for making new family because old, and wonder what happen to his mother and father to find out one of them got killed in ice and other still alive in ice.

you can literally romance the entire common wealth (figuratively and literally with mods).

Companions don't care. So long as you don't do it in front of already romanced companions though.

Though you wanna play a realistic straight laced i'd say go with Piper if you want an early af xp boost.

Cait if you wanna have a semi tanky melee / shotgun user.

only if they're near each other when you romance one. Other than that they don't care lmao. They lose some companion affinity.

Cait is awesome for selfish players, also her lockpick skill allows you to save some points on leveling yours (albeit at cost of handful of bobby pins on more difficult locks). Piper has more likeable personality but gameplay-wise she's one of the most useless.

Like @1L355ON pointed out, Piper is already experiencing a mother's life with her sister Nat, this was a nice point which i completely missed out. And her thoughts about Nat being a copy herself is proving that she might be a thoughtful mother as well.

Other than that she is nice, but you know.. too optimistic about life, and people are all selfish.. and she has things to learn.. like all of us.

About Cait, i'm still unclear how i feel for her. Things she did, the situation she has in.. is not her fault but she chose to act other than sitting back and taking all in..

A father and mother can sacrifice their lives for their kids, like we saw in the beginning how Nora acted. About Cait's parents; when your parents sold you slavers they are no longer your family, they are just someone else.. so that makes you a stranger for them too, who is defending self to harming people. I'm not justifying what she did for revenge but what i'm saying she didn't kill her parents in my book.

About her being a junkie, well.. she wasn't thru an easy choice, and she is trying to forget and ease her pain.. she is just a one lone person with no support, she could have just suicided but she wanted to live. I loved her this side maybe, behind her protective shield she has full of life waiting to be touched.

What i'm unclear is about her, I feel her, but I'm still not sure if i'm sympathisizing OR liking her for real.

And i'm not afraiding to get stabbed by her while sleeping ;)) like someone said hehe. She is not like that. And she can be a caring mother, she probably will project all of her 'unlived' expectations to her child.. she knows how it feels not to be loved after all..

I'm not even thinking about Curie and all, she may be very 'real' but she never can not be a mother, and never feel like beyond that barrier.. women change a lot after giving birth. She can be a good flirt.. with all french accent and all ;)

Pff, this is like a real life situation ;)) Thing is i'm living like a merc yeah i helped some factions so far but i'm a man for myself. After this decision i'll lean toward a way.. With Piper i'll probably will go with minutemans more than before.. With Cait idk where to go with her, idk how long i can live by wandering place to place with my 'free spirit' ;)

Come to think of it, Cait's parents are very selffish and cruel to their children, so I don't think she want to go thought that again if player are kind of selffish like her parents.
