What is the BEST mod manager for F04 in 2023?

I've tried NMM and Mod Organizer 2. Are there any other managers I should try?

Do you mean "best" mod manager? It depends on what you want and what you like to see in a mod manager. I use nmm/ce still because I really hated Vortex, and a lot of people are seeing problems in Vortex too. M02 seems to be about it for those who don't want nmm and don't care for vortex.

There is some what of a learning curve for MO2 but in terms of function MO2 is the best once you learn how to use MO2 its easier than Vortex and the best IMO. In terms of they think its good and for super novice users use it Vortex. If you want to check out auto installers then vortex has auto installer lists and Wabbajack uses MO2. the main thing about MO2 is the left side is the list in order of load order for assets and files. the right is for plugins.

I'm having a hell of a time figuring out MO2.

I think its mainly a preference thing, if your happy and confident with either then yeah use it, I was late to modding so I use vortex, not knowing much about it, have 200 working mods tho I am picky on what ones, and I always check to see if there is issues with it, from where I stand what I do see is the load order in many cases seems to be the problem with some mods. I also keep away from mods requiring a fair few other mods to run it, always keep it simple is my rule.

There is no "best" it just depends on your preference. Most will say either MO2 or Vortex.

MO2 is confusing but definitely superior. It's worth using over Vortex imo.
