Same, honestly. Companions tend to run into my line of fire and unnecessarily attack enemies that are no threat, so I'd rather leave them at home rather than risk them running into a Fat Man shell.
I'll keep the dog around the gas station safehouse, though. He can be my guard dog for when I'm away.
Right they should also have mission that you can them send off to or some mode where they're useful other than following you around and stealing kills.
im in my Home in megaton
"i dont like the look of this place" says charon
ohh waat a kidder love his comedy
I cant remember how many times my companion went in front of my VATS in FNV ....... and i killed her/him.
I will go solo on first playthrough, and might keep it up on later ones.
I like the feeling of danger and desolation when you explore the place alone, it gives you a reason to keep a torch/light source when you explore the caves because there is no companion(meat shield) to charge ahead .
For this one I might only take the dog with me... don't know.
Keep the traveling from getting sad? Ha! I do see your point though. I think what it is for me is that I really miss the lonely survival mood that games like the first 3 silent hill games and resident evil 1-3 had.
