There's a mini-story in university point that, unless i missed something, has no closure.

The story is below.

A girl named Jacqueline finds partial research data on reactor efficiency while scavenging, and when word gets out, the town is attacked by the institute, but it never says whether she died, or found the rest of the data.

If anyone knows how the story ends, please tell me where to find the rest of it.

It ends below the bank vault in the Campus Credit Union. At least the "Data" portion that the Institute is searching for. You will need master Lockpick.


Once you get into the bank vault open ALL of the safes. The Middle one is a Master Level lock. Inside it is a button. Hit the button and a secret door opens up leading to a secret research lab below the Credit Union.

There are no enemies in the lab. But lots of goodies. And the thing that the Professor was working on for the Military. And it is a Juicy thing. It isn't "Data" that the Institute is looking for. The Professor miniaturized his research and built a Legendary Prototype Laser Rifle that does not need to be reloaded. Just pull the trigger and shoot so long as you have cells in your pack.

There is also a terminal that has the final research notes and the story of what was really going on in the University. Sadly no indications of what happened to Jacqi nor any sign she made it that far.

You can find her body and a note in the main university point building, you even get a quest form the railroad to get in there. She was killed by institute synths including everybody in the town for not giving the research over fast enough.
The note says she is sorry, she found it too late and that she loves her dad.

the research is just a crappy laser pistol that you dont need to reload.

The story ends with you Going into the Credit Union through a terminal-locked door (in the little cafe area), opening the vault, picking hte lock on one of the safes, pressing the button inside, and finding a unique Laser Rifle inside.

Jacq nevr got that far. She figured out where to go, and what to do ... but before she could make good on that, she died - killed by G1 synths during the attack. EVERYONE died in that attack. Quite sad, really. Worst thing though: no workbench. I want to RESURRECT that community, damnit!

As silly as it sound its such things i could never side with instite for.
For one life cost is one too many, for one settlement lost is one too many.
They had to die, for all the people they killed.

And shame most of fallout 4 environment exposition is never finished, 90% of those locations have no ending o their stories at lest university point does.

Aaand this is why we can't have nice things, cause the institute are A holes that give very little or no explanation of their questionable actions.

There's an even older story behind it, found in the terminals at Sedgwick Hall and in the credit union:
Before the war, a scientist at the university was working on reactor efficiency with a grad student. They worked for the military, but the dean of the university thought that was just a cover for their romantic relationship, as they disappeared in the fault of Credit Union and came out hours later, while in reality they were working on that laser rifle

You dont't actually need the master lockpick skill, if you follow all the messages you learn the combination of the strongbox with the button that opens the secret lab.

Different folks. I'm pretty sure you're talking about the old man and his daughter (or possibly grand daughter). Forget the names but I think hers is kat or katy or something.

Jacq is dead and died before she could make it out.

This mini-story is basically another example of the Institute's evil deeds, the Institute is hungry for energy so it keeps sniffing around for new energy sources, or more specifically, Mass Fusion technology, which is what the so-called "phase three" all about. I'm not sure if the research by scientists at University Point is related to the main quest Mass Fusion but it is definitely related to energy research. And the method the Institute uses to obtain such technology is distasteful - using Kellog a serial killer and wiping out a whole town... from the look of University Point it is very certain it's used to be a well organized town like the Goodneighbors , if not Diamond City.
