Purpose of the ape toys

Is there a special meaning behind the ape toys? Since you cant pick em up anyways.

Are you talking about the creepy clapping monkeys? (the ones with drum cymbals) I could be wrong but I think that they alert enemies if they activate.

I don't know, but I make sure to shoot them before they can clap. They scare the ♥♥♥♥ out of me.

They sure do. Walked into a comic store, and the freaking thing went off.

They are sometimes rigged with explosives, mostly there as creepy traps... shoot the bastards every time you see one.

Yeah, their purpose seems to be creepy and cause scares. Just like the real world ones.

oh ok, i always slap their head of, the funny thing is often they go off when i already killed everyone :D

The scares they give.... I always shoot them if i see them.

Also there is a location in-game where there are 6-7 ape toys together clapping.... it was creepy as ♥♥♥♥ and made me shot them all...
