Bug? Items randomly highlighting green
Anyone else getting a bug where items are randomly highlighting green, like when you want to select them in the settlement build setting? It's not happening on old saves, but I've gone too far to want to go back and completely lose that progress...

i had it happen a few times but never lasted. i think it might have something to do with items you tag to find junk parts??? when it happened to me it had junk parts i needed. so im not sure if its a bug that its doing it or a bug that its not always doing it if its supposed to

How do you tag/untag items for junk parts?

Do you have favorited components, and the perk that gives you rare materials when you scrap things?

I do have the perk for rare materials, but not sure how to favorite components.

i use a controller but when i got into a crafting menu i can hit Y to tag whatever mod i want on my item and itll put a little magnifying glass next to junk that gives me those resources i need

That was it! I figured out how to turn off the tag for search. Thanks so much!!! It was really annoying. I'd prefer to have to remember what I'm looking for and keep things realistic

I didn't read that part of the perk properly and now I'm stuck with glowing green stuff!
I don't mind the icon to show what I need but glowing stuff sucks.

Go to your workshop and take ALL of your junk items out. Go to your inventory junk tab, press c to go into componet view. This lets you see all base materials of all the items you have, and you can individually mark which ones you want to glow green. It is actually one of the best perks in the game, very easy to find rare materials in each room.

If you don't want them to glow, then just unmark it...
The entire point of this perk is to mark items you REALLY want, so you can loot all of the green items.

Yeah I know that, what I'm saying is I'd like to rummage around and actually LOOK for the items marked, not have them glow in my face - even whole filing cabinets glow when there is something I need inside.

It's difficult to know what something will break down into so not marking them is just as annoying!

It's not the end of the world, its actually really useful. Just a little annoying at times.

I suppose I should of worded my original moaning post a little better!

Its the level 2 Scrapper perk that allows favourited junk to be highlighted.

I am pretty sure they figured that out over the last 2 1/2 years
