What qualifies as a "non-automatic pistol"?
Like the title says.... Does a 10mm count as automatic or not?

it counts as an atomatic if it has the right mods

Any weapon that fires one bullet, and only one bullet, per trigger pull.

The 10mm pistol is an automatic weapon, if it has a Receiver with "automatic" in the name.

Otherwise, itis not.

:)

thats semi auto matic automatic is when you can squeeze the trigger and it fires multiple times by just holding the button down as compared to one shot each click

I was highly confused about this too, but it SEEMS that it means "fully automatic", like when you give them an automatic reciver. You can modify a 10mm pistol to be fully automatic, for example.

So apparently that means gunslinger works with energy pistols, so long as they don't have the full auto reciver.

I admit I haven't checked this personally because Im early in the game and throwing all my level ups into other things.

It doesn't help that many games and systems would consider anything other than revolvers as not qualifying, or the opposite (Shadowrun returns, revolver style pistols don't get to use any pistol skills but free reloads and Aiming).

IRL an automatic is a firearm that recoil and/or propellant gasses to eject the spent casing and load a new cartrige; ie g18, m9, m1911. Non-automatic is anything that the user has to manually eject the spent casing and load a new one; ie a revolver, bolt-action, pump-action, break-action, muzzle-load

There is semi automatic and there is automatic. Semi-automatic means it fires a bullet every time u pull the trigger. Automatic means it fires several bullets every time u pull the trigger.
U can add weapon mods that increases firerate but doesn't make the weapon "automatic". And there are mods that does make weapons automatic, if so it's in the description.

This is the reason I was confused... is it the same in-game? Or do they mean the one bullet per trigger pull thing?

not sure how it is in-game. best advice would be to make a separate save file, get the perk and compare the results with 10mm vs revolver, and revert if you don't like the results

I wonder what guns count putting a short stock on them a pistol and what is still a rifle.
Premu May 21, 2022 @ 1:17pm
In game it just looks at the chosen receiver. If the weapon's receiver is called "automatic", the weapon is considered an automtic weapon, otherwise not. There's no more dark magic behind the classification.

If you pull the trigger and hold it, baring it having two shot legendary, or your mouse bugging/static charged causing multi clicks, you get 1 shot from a gun it isn't counted as automatic. Game doesn't distinguish between semi and single other than single having more down time between shots as the character works the action.

If you pull the trigger and its keeps firing as long as you hold it down - its an automatic.

If it doesn't, its a semi-auto.

I used to have a couple of guns over here in Australia before they were banned themover here ,
''Single Shot '' would refer to bolt action , lever action , pump action for shotguns that fire 1 round at a time .
''Semi-Auto'' , this time you pull the trigger , the now spent round gets rejected from the weapon , then auto loads the next round for firing
''Automatic fire '' hold the trigger to empty the magazine . Think AK47 or M16 .
